I stumbled across the place by coincidence. Had an omlette with salad and a capuccino for beakfast. I found it very delicious. Coffee was great too. Did not try the bakery stuff. But it looked delicious and authenticly french.

Delicious Raspberry Tart! The first bite, you taste the tartness of the raspberries, then slight sweetness followed by a buttery taste from the crust. Amazing! I thought about it hours later. I really enjoyed it! It was fantastic! The African American woman at the counter...was disappointing though. She barely spoke, didn't thank us when we held the bathroom door open for her and then literally pushed past us coming out. Rude! But the other staff were nice and helpful!More
Recommended by our hotel staff. Popular place for breakfast, but a dozen or so tables outside. Quiche was really good, as was the omelet. Good pastries, excellent cappuccino. Not cheap, but tasty and flavourful.
We first ate some wonderful pastries at Renaud's in 2017 and visited Santa Barbara again this summer. The food was as delicious as we remembered! This time we stopped by for lunch; a French Cubano sandwich and salad and the house salad with a crunchy...baguette. The lunch was delicious but the lemon meringue tart was out of this world. Lucky Californians; there are seven Renaud's locations!More
Wonderful breakfast selections and coffee. The croissants and pastries and so delicious and fresh. The staff is very attentive. The outdoor tables make for a very enjoyable experience.
Just to level the review field, I found this place on a search that rated it a 5 star. I was overpromised/ under delivered by a large margin. I follow my wife to the best bakeries in the world, and found Renaud's to be an...average bakery - at best. The wife rates it a 2.5. It's very small with an equally small selection of pastries. Nothing visually impressed me, so I tried a crossiant. It was good, but cold. That and a cup of coffee got me on the road, but Tartene of SF it aint.More
The best croissants (truly French) in California ! The only French Baker who knows how to make. 😊Also sold at Gelsons in Los Angeles and La Canada.
The inside of the croissants was buttery and the outside was flaky. They were warm and did not need butter. I think these were the best croissants I've ever had.
Good not amazing bakery, the service is better than before, though an over zealous waitress / cashier who had nothing to do with my service was very rude, asked while I had a mask on to not lower it to be able to speak to...the cashier, obviously she had nothing else to do and is powerless her only claim of fame was to do that, the waiter though was excellent and very helpful, the food is good for the USA equal to a regular bakery in France nothing extraordinary.More
Is it pastry or is it art? This bakery has the most amazing pastries that are delicious, delicate and full of subtle flavors. This could seriously be the best French inspired bakery that I have encountered in the continental United States.
Personalized service and great selection of French pastries. Stopped for a late brunch at one of the outdoor tables. The young woman who waited in me ( you order at the counter and your food is brought to you) immediately offered to brew me a...mint tea and make it into iced tea when I had asked for a decaf iced tea.More
It was just what I was hoping for. The reviews I read were correct. The almond croissant was perfect. The cappuccino great. The breakfast sandwich was very good. The staff were friendly. We sat on the patio and enjoyed it. We went right after they...opened so I am not sure how long lines may get.More
My husband and I had breakfast here while staying in Santa Barbara for a friend's wedding. It's a tiny place without much seating, 75% of which is outside, so make sure if you're planning on eating here that you're comfortable with the weather. The food...was good, but it was the pastries that really stood out to us on our visit. The coffee was also quite good, as was the fresh-squeezed orange juice. I thought our meal was a bit overpriced for what it was, but would recommend stopping by for coffee and a pastry in a heartbeat.More
We waited a good 25 minutes until the food was on oir tavle, but it was well worth it! Everything we ordered was great. The croissant sandwich, the Benedict eggs, the frenchtoast , the coffee delicious.
This is a busy and wonderful little bakery that makes the best Breakfast Sandwich I have had. Everything looked fantastic and we took a few goodies home that were delightful. Highly recommend.
