Went to the Ultimate Steak Dinner at Playground 2.0 a couple of weeks ago. We went to the earlier seating at 6pm. Playground 2.0 is run by the same wonderful people at the Playground and the actual restaurant is behind the original. You buy tickets to 2.0 online and you can see their monthly events to choose what you'd like.... More

The food was excellent. Steam buns, brussels sprouts, fried chickan. All amazing. Don't miss the dessert -- the sticky pudding is incredible!

When our son told us that for our visit to SoCal we would be going for a special birthday celebration meal at “Playground 2.0” where we would be served 18 courses with wine pairings ($150/person), all I could think of was that since I am not a big eater (but I love good food), this was not a good idea.... Stopped in for a meal before a show, interested in a Pork and Beer experience. Its a Tapas approach of sharing plates. Nice ingredients, well prepared. The Pork Ramen was especially tasty and if there's any criticism its that $18 is a bit steep for a small bowl of Ramen. The Branzino was delicious. Fresh and cooked well. They offer... More

At this place, which boldly declares that its "Uncle Lou's Chicken" is the "one item you cannot send back" does not accept any changes or substitutions to its fried chicken because its "perfect", you find an eclectic offering of seasonal goodies. My wife and I shared our four year anniversary there. Each year we pick a "fancy restaurant" to celebrate... More

I had heard about the experience of Sunday Supper and wasn't disappointed. It's fixed price with chef's choice. 12 courses served family style. Every course a culinary delight! The server explains each course when it's served to the table... Be sure to pace yourself. You can bring your own wine for a corkage charge. Really a fun, different experience for... More

Took my family here because I have read great reviews. On their website it says that Playground 2.0 is by invitation only, well not exactly. You can actually buy your ticket ahead of time to be able to eat here so waiting to get invited is not necessary. First off, Chef Jayson Quinn is AWESOME!!! He's really cool, down to... More

Came here for a date night on a Wednesday evening with my wife. Originally tried to make a reservation on OpenTable, but there were no openings during the time I wanted to go. I called Playground directly and left a message. I received a return call stating that I can show up and have a drink at the bar and... More

If you've been to Playground and loved it, take the next step (actually 12 steps to the right of the front door) and get invited to Playground 2.0. It's a pre fix themed dinner which seats only 17 at the counter overlooking the cooking area. If you go to their website you can see the schedule of upcoming dinners. We... More

I have had the pleasure of dining at The Playground numerous times - and I always enjoy introducing someone new to the experience. My personal favorites are Uncle Lou's fried chicken, and the maple glazed pork chop. However, there are ALWAYS some amazing things done with vegetables (cauliflower, brussel sprouts, etc.) that leave me begging for more! From a bar... More

Chef driven, ingredient driven affordable small plates and craft cocktails and beers. A young and creative team of chefs led by Executive Chef, Jason Quinn, change up the menu daily to keep the dining experience fresh and exciting. Orange County's "Best Bartender" making exciting craft cocktails and Santa Ana's best beer program, with 15 craft beers on tap and approximately 60 bottled beers, including many rarities. The dining experience is different at Playground: You're expected to share, so don't think in terms of my dish or your dish, and we're stubborn about our no-modification rule. If you're adventurous you'll probably love it; if you need control over your dish preparation, you probably won't.
