I would definitely come back! I really enjoyed the smaller, shared plates approach, especially since we had 4 people (order more – yes!!!). The restaurant is broken up into smaller rooms and we got a table in the last room which was much quieter than...More

We celebrated a special occasion at this restaurant on a weeknight. It’s small with a casual somewhat artsy feel. We were glad we had a reservation because every table was full when we arrived. The menu changes weekly full of dishes meant to be shared....More

Finally got around to go there for dinner last night and it was pretty good. Our server Anthony was very friendly and very knowledgeable. The pretzel sourdough bread was way too big for two people and not really good. The pork belly buns on the...More

Social dinner with business colleagues. Nice selection of cocktails and beer. We chose a mix of dishes to share and enjoyed them all. Pasta dishes were innovative and delicious. Only disappointment was that fried chicken came out well after the rest of the foods, so...More

I’ve been to this place more times than I can count and I’ve loved every visit. The service is never slow, the servers take the time to explain when you have questions about the menu and everyone is just great. But the real miraculous thing...More

Every bite was considered and cared for. What words would I use: fresh, unique, savory, delicious. We each ordered some small plates and shared. It was a fun and loose, yet the food was meticulously created. Really good evening. Nice staff as well. Can't wait...More

Start to finish was terrific! Our Server Steven was delightful, knowledgeable, and eager to explain and help us with suggestions. While we know we were not his only table he certainly made us feel as if we were. The dishes are ideal for sharing and...More

Hi: Thanks for taking the time to give the review. Your comment regarding the noise level was dead on. We completed an expansion to the restaurant in December and the acoustics were horrible. So we brought in some acoustic engineers and just completed a substantial...More

Simply awesome food. The best meal I’ve had in a really long time. Share a multitude of tapas & try a little but if everything. That being said, skip the silly over priced drinks and have a glass of wine. The food makes this place...More

NOTE: We're doing major renovations that will require us to close the restaurant from July 18 through July 29. We're sorry if this causes you any convenience. Chef driven, ingredient driven affordable small plates and craft cocktails and beers. A young and creative team of chefs led by Executive Chef, Jason Quinn, change up the menu daily to keep the dining experience fresh and exciting. Orange County's "Best Bartender" making exciting craft cocktails and Santa Ana's best beer program, with 15 craft beers on tap and approximately 60 bottled beers, including many rarities. The dining experience is different at Playground: You're expected to share, so don't think in terms of my dish or your dish, and we're stubborn about our no-modification rule. If you're adventurous you'll probably love it; if you need control over your dish preparation, you probably won't.
