This restaurant is a "food fashion forward" where plates come out from the kitchen as ready and are meant to be shared. I thoroughly enjoyed the octopus. The presentation and taste reminded me of our recent trip to Spain. The tables are closely packed as in the European style and there is outdoor seating on bench tables. The bar is... More

Lola has been a favorite of ours (those who work in DTSA) for years. Always great small menu and food prepared with pride and passion. Just wish they would be open for lunch again.

Pastrami tacos! Lola Gaspar's chef is a genius. I am far from a pastrami fan, but I sure like tacos. This dude makes his own pastrami, less salt, better smoked, so that the seasoning actually enhances rather than hides the flavor of the meat. Add a secret sauce, shredded cabbage, chicharon for texture contrast and a bit of flavor. Absolute... More

A very bohemian vibe with cool and laid-back atmosphere. Tapas menu is quite limited but most everything on the menu is very good. Sangria was tasty but tad weak. Octopus with Merguez rocked ! So did the charred salad and skirt steak.. A bit pricey but you will leave satisfied and feeling good !

Now invited some collueges. They loved it as well. Also perfect for a diner by yourself. Not big portions, but high quality. Just how i like it. The Boont Amber is a perfect beer. Just love it

Traveled to SoCal due to family emergency, and desperately needed a good meal with an old friend. We went here at his suggestion and we're thrilled we did. Only drawback is small, cramped dining room or uncomfortable picnic tables outdoors - we chose the latter due to warm weather. Octopus was succulent and beyond tender - we ended up ordering... More

I eat at a lot of great little restaurants for foodies all over the Bay Area. But in the arts district of Santa Ana, there is a gem. This was the best meal I've shared in YEARS! Bacon wrapped dates, skirt steak tacos, chicken relleno (taste and presentation) all beyond expectations - no words to describe. We were a group... More

There are few restaurants I’ve visited consistently for nearly six years. Lola Gaspar is one of them. The first time was a bit of an off chance. While working in DTSA, I’d checked out a few of the other local restaurants and was less than impressed (Gypsy Den and Memphis, I’m looking at you), so my coworkers and I figured... More

Food was awesome. You can order small plates. Personnel is friendly. And it's a nice part of town. Also if you eating by yourself you can eat on the bar and talk to some people. A lot of young people come here and has a really nice atmosphere.

This is one of local faves. Hipster staff that is knowledgeable about their libations. Food comes in small but tasty portions.
