Pleasant lunch on the patio, but after eating two fries I thought I might have to run to the toilet. I think they were using last summer's oil. Caesar salad was fresh.

The food wasn't bad but was way overpriced. We were in a hurry and this was the most convenient place to grab something to eat

The food was good, but overpriced. The outdoor seating comes with wasps and aggressive crows. There is no food or drink allowed on the bus up to the castle, so finish up before you get on the bus.

The food was ok and you had the option of eating outside but the wasps put paid to that for us! There is not a lot of choice nearby so this is the obvious place to eat after a morning spent touring the "castle".

Pricey and not great quality. Bypass the option of you can. Food and service below standard. McDonald's a better option.

After our tour we wanted to eat before we got on the road. The café has several choices that are not usually on a cafeteria menu, home made chili, pulled BBQ pork and garlic mac and cheese. We were pleasantly surprised.

In house food is notorious for high prices, slow service, and cold food or poor quality.. None are true here, the menu accommodated several cultures, the food was fresh, hot, and not unreasonable in price. All a real surprise for a state run facility, the contractor is doing a great job.

We ordered & got a hamburger, & chicken sandwich. Both were OK only. A bit pricy. Were told about the price even before we landed so can't complain. Also there are no other eating places around !!!!

Lots of menu choices at this cafeteria style venue. On the weekend afternoon we visited, they also offered some barbecue choices in the outdoors seating area adjacent to the theatre. Everything seemed pricey at first glance, and even more so after we received our very below average meals - the Southwest Chicken Breast sandwich. I would recommend trying something else... More

We arrived at Hearst Castle Visitor Center at 8:30 am and our first break following our tours was around 3 pm. We were starving and pleased to find not only a cafe, but a cafe with many food options (BBQ, burgers, chinese, pizza, etc.) We both had BBQ beef sandwiches and they were very good! Loved the outdoor dining patio... More
