This is the original shabuway, that has been brought to the Philippines with 4 branches already. The meat is good, cut thinly, perfect for shabu shabu. The vegetables are a bonus. The number one selling point though is the the dipping sauces for the meat, it will keep you coming back for more. A complete meal at around 14-18usd, excellent... More

This place used to be good. The quality of the meat and the soup has gone downhill. We would not come here again. The service was ok, they needed us to flag them down a few times. Not great for parties over 4 adults.

I have eaten at Shabuway San Mateo several times. The American Kobe is nicely marbled with a rich taste. The Sauces are excellent as are the Vegetables that come with the meal. It is a very popular Restaurant and the lines can be long. The Service is good and the prices are reasonable for the quality.

We (a family) visited Shabuway one day in October. Only the fact that it was our first family gathering for lunch couldn't upset our experience no matter what, but we will try to be objective about this restaurant as much as we can. Even that the whole ordering process seemed to be complicated, there were "baby steps" written in the... More

Shabuway's version of shabu shabu is a step up from the classic Chinese hot pot. It's tastier, more satisfying. It has a distinctive Japanese element to the meal which my wife and I find virtually addictive causing us to satisfy our craving for this unique cuisine at least 2 to 3 visits a month. Always good.

My family and I have been to the restaurant about 30 times and we all really enjoy it. The shabu shabu is great. In addition to beef they have lamb and pork. They also offer a variety of vegetables. The prices are very reasonable and the food quality has been very consistent for us. Only downside is that sometimes you... More

We were in San Mateo and got a sudden craving for shabu. We decided on Shabuway and were pretty dissapointed. The "lean kobe meat" was actually pretty hard and the meat lacked taste, even after dipping the meat in all the sauces. I would look for another shabu place.

No Problem with taste and presentation.........very good! However, definitely not "Japanese" service. Yoshinoya does better (oops, did I say that). Wish they would not mention the "All-you-can-Eat" on their homepage, especially the fine print which dates back to 2011.

I eat this kind of food regularly in Los Angeles, and this place serves authentic delicious Shabu Shabu. The Japanese Kobe was absolutely divine, and the dipping sauces are fresh and delicious. I would definitely eat here again if I am in the area. Loved it. Excellent dinner.
