My wife's sister turned 70 this year and we hosted an early dinner for her at Viognier on 18 May. The food, service and room were all excellent. There were plenty of cocktails consumed (the Palomas were a big hit and the birthday girl had three really well prepared Negronis). We ordered right off of the regular menu and the... More

Inconsistency in the design of the menu and in execution, but some good moments in between... This really sums it up. Some dishes on the menu look like they came from the rustic Italian joint and some from a very fancy french place so unfocused impression was created. Prices were quite high and that was consistant :) Some food tasted... More

Stay away from this place. Terrible food and small portions. Best to go some place else for better cuisine. It is a supermarket of poor pretentious food.

The food was good but the prices are very high. I given the price I expected great service. I ordered a bottle of wine, cheese plate and some of the cured meats.... Nothing that required any cooking... I waited at least 30 min for everything to show up. The restaurant was empty.

We dined here on Thanksgiving, not realizing there was a special menu. I had already planned my meal, having spent time researching Viognier specialties so it was a bit disappointing having to settle for anything else - though all the food was delicious. Getting to the restaurant was a bit difficult. Draeger's Market was closed so we could not enter... More

Loved the variety of food and gin liquor collection. The duck board plate with duck bacon, confit & pate was outstanding. The tempura squash dish was very good. The server was friendly and knowledgeable.

Excellent food, great ambiance, great wine pairings in the Peninsula. The Bay Area has some of the best dining options in the world (and I've been fortunate enough to have experienced much of the world), and Viognier offers very good food, nicely plated, in an upscale ambiance for a fun night out. Yes, it shares a building with an upscale... More

Maybe an off night. We eat here once a quarter with friends and it's usually really good. Service was good but not as crisp as usual this night. Bottle of wine came after our appetizer had arrived. That was odd. Shared a salad and flatbread before entree..nice but nothing spectacular. The cod with spinach was excellent but others had the... More

I was travelling to the South San Francisco area -- this restaurant was recommended by a friend. Great EXCLUSIVE and ROMANTIC dinner spot. Impressive wine list. Luckily I ate with a colleague who brought a bottle of 2004 Bordeaux from his cellar to share. Their corkage fee was $25. Dinner was exclusive, tasteful and flavor-rich. Leave room for their Trio... Very weird combination of good food, good wine (red too cold), clinical interior and strange location inside a super market. This restaurant certainly delivers good food from an extensive menu; the wine list is impressive, but they ran out of the red selected before the end of our dinner. Nevertheless the dining was great. Our private room was just that...... More
