Book ahead or go early! They open at 5pm, we arrived 5:15 and the wait was already an hour. We always come back whenever we are in town. The sushi is always fresh, I ordered the grilled squid to start, yummy! Just that it was way too big a portion it could have been a main. Always have the... read more

i have eaten here many times and have never been disappointed. Pricey but worth it. Try Aburi Sake Shioyaki (slightly seared salmon with salt and sesame oil). Amazing.! Long lines to get a table is the norm.

This is a very small place and it is one of the best sushi restaurants on the peninsula. Sometimes the wait for a table can be more than 30 min. Well worth it. They do not take reservations. The menu is very simple and you can eat sushi or you can have a regular meal without the sushi. Your choice.... More

We don't have a big variety of sushi in SA, so this was quite an experience. Chose the chef's platter - 8 different kinds of fish, tuna, mackerel, clams, shrimp, salmon, baby lobster... Each one better than the previous. Because the gets so busy you do have to wait quite a while for your food, but totally worth it. Do... More

This is a good place and if you like sushi rolls and looking for a pre-set special it is a fresh well done food. But if you are like me and like to get sashimi, baby lobster and other more exotic items it will cost you. I had $60 lunch .....

This place has a very authentic feel, it is almost as busy as lunch spots I've visited in Japan. The food is as good as the busy atmosphere would indicate. If you can find it open, try it sometime.

First time I tried to eat at Sushi Sam's the wait was 2 hrs, so today hubby & I decided to skip lunch and have a very late lunch/very early dinner. We came as soon as they opened at 5 and secured a table. The hype around this place is big, and the lines are always long, so we were... More

Went for a family sushi dinner. Had tekka, salmon skin roll, scallop, yellow fin, soft shell crab roll, caterpillar roll, special California roll and one of the chef choice sushi plates. All just mediocre. Yes, tasty, but no soup or salad or edamame or anything is included, like with many other restaurants. This place is so highly ranked and regarded... More

we rolled up to this place with 2 toddlers, a teenager and 5 adults on a fairly busy night and were seated within 10 minutes - the server was patient and attentive and friendly all night long. The sushi was good - not amazing - but they had my favorite- ankimo (monkfish liver) so I was as happy as a... More
