Fish House Vera Cruz is my favorite seafood restaurant for 10+ years. I haven't found another restaurant in the county that compares to it. We eat here for special occasions and business meetings as well as to treat out-of-town guests. I have never had a bad meal here (San Marcos location). Their food quality and quantity is always consistent. My... More

I was expecting tasty fish, cooked with exotic flavors from south of the border. I got dry broiled fish with cafeteria vegetables. Yawn. Will never go back.

Nothing special. Bland recipes. The service was slow and the wait extended although the restaurant was not crowded. Doubt if we will return.

This place makes any fish taste good and fresh. The clam chowder and sourdough also stands out. The atmosphere has seen better days, the fish tanks are quite lovely though. I wish they put more effort into making the vegetables tastier so you dont feel bad for ordering the amazing au gratin potatoes that are soooo fattening because they are... More

Refuse to eat there any longer. Kept thinking they would remodel or add new food items. If you order fish, you get mashed potatoes and mixed vegetable. Always the same! The place needs to be up dated. It smells old and is ratty looking. Had lobster that was raw - took it back and it came out hard and rubbery!

We had a wonderful meal--from the delicious chowder, to our fish entrees, to the spectacular dessert. Big servings, friendly service, rustic ambiance. Go!

Although we are in Bonita (South Bay part of San Diego), we have now been up to the Fish House Vera Cruz three times in the past month and a half, a 45 minute or more drive for us. It is a fantastic place to eat with many selections - don't think anything is fried - all types of fish... More

These folks really know how to serve up a seafood meal! Fish spiced just right, amazing potatoes and other side dishes make a hearty and complete meal for any appetite. I have some special restrictions, but they will always prepare my meal the way I require. You don't find that kind of flexibility and willingness very often, so when we're... More
