Excellent food. Good size portions. Lots of flavor. Friendly service. Spring rolls had a large shrimp inside instead of pieces. The curry was very flavorful. I’ll be back.

New name, SUE THAI OM The food was amazing and huge portions. The prices were very reasonable and a good selection of menu items. Very simple restaurant, easy atmosphere, clean and comfortable. We all had to get doggy bags. If you like good Thai food, this is a place worth trying.

Loved lunch here today. Very reasonable lunch prices from 11 to 3, they even serve soup with it. Ordered the Panang Curry and was very happy with my choice. I asked for 7 of 10 spice, could've been a bit spicier but was amazing nonetheless. Clean, great service, and cozy atmosphere. Will be back for sure.

Nothing was that good. Noodles were average, a bit dry and overcooked. I could not tell if they were actually rice noodles! The beef was very chewy and obviously low quality. They were nice enough, but the food will not make me return. And I saw no lunch prices or portions.

Well headed over here to get some Thai food. Good service but other than the egg rolls the food wasn’t great.

My husband had read somewhere that this was a really good Thai restaurant. What he read was spot on! We arrived for dinner rather late the other night. The place was spotless and quiet. Our waiter made every effort to assist in my crazy husband's requests..going so far as to have my husband describe the ingredients in a special sauce he had enjoyed in New York. The waiter came back with a small dish the chef had prepared, to honor that request. We've never been treated so well in such a small place. We shared a beef salad, which had a really delicious dressing. I ordered a red curry chicken dish, which I enjoyed very much. Of a choice of heat from 1-10, I ordered a 7. Next time, I'll go with an 8. My husband had a cellophane/crystal noodle dish, with emphasis on the tang of citrus. It was delicious! Our whole meal with tea and soda came to about $30. Can't beat that with a stick. And, service was superb. Our only disappointment was that they didn't have a beer license, but we were told we could bring our own next time. There will be a next time very soon.

I think this was the best Thai food I've had. Everything we ordered was either outstanding, or at its worst, very good. Starting with the tom yum soup, it was perfect. Many Thai places add carrots, tomatoes and other things that I feel detract from the flavor. Not the case here: it was simple and delicious. Normally, I'm not a fan of pad thai. I find it uninteresting. But we order it for the kids, and here it was so delicious...not even sure why. We also ordered the green curry and the drunken noodles. The green curry was outstanding. it was so good in fact that the drunken noodles seemed only good in comparison. My only criticism of the entire meal was the Thai iced tea, which was slightly watered down and too sweet. But overall I highly recommend this place, and only wish we had something similar where we live.

We have been going to this resturant for years and have never been disappointed. Randy and Sue (owners) are very kind people with a great resturant. I have had everything on the menu and it's all good. My favorite of all is the fried rice with everything. It's not on the menu but it's the best fried rice around. If you are in the area don't miss the opportunity to get some great eats

Don't let the location or appearance of the restaurant fool you. The food here is delicious. As the owner stated after we ordered, nothing is frozen and everything is fresh. The chef, his wife, focuses on healthy meals that are flavorful and always fresh. I came here for lunch with a couple of coworkers. Before ordering, the waiter brings out a bowl of Tom Yum soup for everyone at the table. Every lunch item comes with soup, so it's nice to start eating before you even place your order. The soup...wow. The best Tom Yum I've ever had. So many herbs and the fragrance of lemongrass was just amazing. I enjoyed every last drop. I had the chicken panang curry. I have to say, I've had panang curry at a lot of places. It's my favorite go to Thai dish. This was the best I've ever had. It had the right balance of spices, herbs and coconut milk. The chicken was cooked perfectly; sliced thin, juicy, white meat chicken. And the portions are large. I had to pack half of it. Lunch time was pretty busy in this small restaurant and I can see why. The decor was eclectic. The large reserved table in the back of the restaurant is so impressive, it belongs in a museum. I will be back..with friends and with friends of friends.

This was my first time ordering from Happy Chang's. I eat primarily Asian food, so i have my favorite places already, and now Happy Chang's is one of them. I can't rate the dining experience because i ordered take out, but the food (panang curry and spring rolls) was devine! The portion size was very very good. I love having more than i can eat so i can enjoy the left overs the next day, and this definitely fit the bill! I ordered the three spring roll option as a side dish, and they gave me four rolls! The only thing i wasn't crazy about is that the panang only has bell peppers in it, and no other veggies, but that may be the way it's supposed to be. Not sure. At any rate, i can't wait to try their version of lad na and the other curry dishes. I will be eating here A LOT!

If you want something fresh, start with a cold thai tea or coffe:) you can add the bobba for extra enjoyment! then order the Fresh insted of the deep fried spring rolls, ask for a side of peanut sauce to accompany them :P then just order whatever you want in the menu everything is delicious!!! From the spicy spaggetty to the pineapple fried rice to salads and soups try everything but you have to go back bc you can't eat everything on the plate they serve big portions.

Just a block away from Palomar College in an unassuming 70s strip mall, Happy Chang features some of the best Thai food we have ever tasted. The soups are really great and quite filling, and the curries are very tasty indeed. The portions are big and the waiter is full of recommendations of protein pairings. The place is somewhat cluttered and quirky with teak furnishings and elephant art, so perhaps not the place to bring someone you need to impress. But for great food at a good price you can't go wrong with Happy Chang.
