We were in Carlsbad when someone recommended this place after telling them we were born and raised in Philly. They even fly in the rolls from Philly to give you a true experience. This was the best cheesesteak I have had since leaving Philly. Very friendly employees, too. They even had whiz and applied the proper amount. It is in... More

I have been around and have eaten the best cheesesteaks, but this place beats them all. One bite and it's self-evident. Dana, Melissa and crew work magic to get it right. I would recommend a thousand times over. Do it right and ask for whiz. -Detroit Nick

Hands down, the best Philadelphia steak sandwich in San Diego county. That's all that needs to be said.

When in town on business, we never miss a chance to go to Philly Franks. The place is small and can get a bit crowded during lunch hour but the cheesesteak sandwiches and a basket of fries can't be beat.

Very good cheesesteaks, could use a little more meat on them for the price, but the taste is straight out of Philly!

I love a good Philly cheesesteak and haven't been able to find one since my local place closed about a year ago. Well, Philly Frank, you made my day! My husband and I shared the mushroom steak Philly, with grilled onions, and it was exceptional! It's served on a long, soft roll with just the right amount of meat juice... More

Never been to Philly or really much of the east coast for that matter. I'd been told for a while that this was a great cheesesteak sandwich by numerous east coast transplants. Tried it out & it's delicious. Definitley worth checking out if you're in the area & want something different / not-chainlike. Friendly staff & great food. You'll leave... More

Took awhile to receive my order but it was very good. Sandwich was pretty large and filling. Not the cheapest place but not too bad.

Just a hole-in-the-wall located in a strip mall, Philly Frank's serves up very good cheesesteak. The sandwiches are huge; teeming with plenty of meat and cheese, with optional onions, mushrooms and peppers. The fries were very good too. Come hungry or split a sandwich with your partner. Two sandwiches, a basket of fries and two soft drinks set us back... More
