We had lunch here. All the sandwiches were very good. Service was good. The pastrami sandwich was very good. A good sandwich without a huge crowd.

Was pleased to try this place. The staff was very friendly and made lots of suggestions. Settled on the Longboard (chicken breast and Italian pesto) and it was great. Will certainly return.

This place is off the charts. Omg really good sandwiches. Love there wheat Hawaiian bread There is nothing bad here all good They recommend certain sandwiches to you on there charts but then you can also make your own. Yummy yummy. Yes a little more money then say like subway but we'll worth every penny

totally tasty but nothing i'm going to shout about. my pastrami sub was really good and everything was fresh. the options are plentiful. the line does not move too quickly [on a saturday afternoon]. the outdoor seating under the trees in the courtyard area quite delightful. easy to park as lot is large. it was a very nice sandwich sorta on-the-fly. refer back to slow moving line. i had never been here before and did not know how the place operated and until i actually got to the register i was not even sure of all my options. there is no real organization to tell you how the place works. perhaps it might be intuitive to the college crowd... whatever. the price point for the size sub is fabulous. i will say that; so i may try it again. nothing i simply must go back to though...

Fresh bread, make your own sandwich, quick service and a clean place. Lots of parking during your lunch hour, places to sit inside and outside and it won't break the bank. One of my fav places to eat lunch, never get tired of Konas!

A friendly place with lots of options for a decent sub-type sandwich with bags of chips and the standard self-serve drink dispenser. Food is reasonable, good sized portions, quick, seems fresh and tasty, so sometimes stop here with the grandkids when we're in a hurry and not looking for ethnic food, or when we're off to the park and need a sandwich to go. So overall positive, not anything remarkable. Good value and stop here a few times a year.

I have loved Kona's ever since they first started serving their freshly sliced lunch meat on hand cut bread rolls. They are efficient and generous on the toppings.

Ok I am from Itally and we don't use to have so big and full sandwiches but oh, this one was really good.. I tried many paninis in California but this one was really the best. I also appreciated the fact that one can build his own salad and a little suggestion.. try the cookies.. you won't be upset! PS the staff was really helpful and friendly! thumb up

A friend and I stopped at Kona's for lunch on Sunday. We both ordered the pastrami 6" sandwich. Overall, I thought it was a good sandwich but it seemed to me that the ratio of meat-to-bread was off the mark. One or two more slices of pastrami would have made it a great sandwich.

Not the best in town - first visit just 'okay' - still way beyond subway, ample portions & make your own ingredients... nice deck, near college (suspect it's key to their business). Beers & subs. A short jump off the 101. Very "bready" rolls, so a "foot long" leaves a bowling ball feel in the gut. Visited after lunch hr midweek - no problem with service...friendly staff.

Kona's offers the freshest sandwiches anywhere! They slice the meat and cheeses in front of you. They have the biggest sandwiches. You would swear that the "foot long" sourdough sandwich is actually about 18 inches! You get a number of "freebie" condiments and veggies when ordering the "works" and then there's another handful of freebies that you can add on top of those! We had a couple of ham, turkey, salami, provolone sandwich with all the trimmings, chips and drinks for under $20! The prices are incredibly kind for student (and non-student) budgets. Sometimes, there's quite a wait as the line stretches around the building. Every afternoon, they offer a "destroyer" challenge of eating a 2 foot sandwich. There's only about 8 photos on the board of the successful challengers for this feat. All in all, this is the place to go for a great sandwich in SLO!

This place makes it breads and they are wonderful. Pick your bread, they slice the meats fresh as you order, and add whatever extras you want. The wheat roll was like Hawaiian bread, sweet and perfect. There was a line out the door when we arrived. It takes time to make each sandwich to order, we waited about 10 minutes, but we all loved our lunch. Inside seating and tables with shade outside.
