Not your typical Mexican food restaurant. I think the reason people come here is the Paella. We saw several steaming platters of rice and seafood be delivered to tables. We had some more simple dishes, mainly tacos. There were some non-traditional flavors like the spicy...spuds. Not bad, but I would recommend Luna Red expand their menu. Not objecting to the Mediterranean or eastern flavors - there were just not enough choices to earn 5 stars from me. What they did serve was tasty enough.More

Lovely outdoor eating area. My girlfriend and I stopped by for an early dinner and caught their happy hour. Excellent deals! The food was outstanding and the staff was attentive and personable!

Dined at this restaurant during the ongoing farmer’s market on Thursday night. No reservations required. However, go early for a table. Great ambience—outdoor dining next to creek. Great service. Great food. Definitely recommend the paella—it’s good for 2–4 people. An excellent price. Public parking nearby.

We arrived in SLO late afternoon and then saw the street crowds for the Thursday night market and wanted some quick lite bites. We walked right into Luna Red, that they are dog friendly was important. Very attentive and friendly wait staff, delicious tacos, perfect!

Luna Red was highly recommended to us and did not disappoint. We had lovely shareables, paella and soup there. All great but the cocktails are a must when there. We ordered from the menu and then tried the "bartender roulette" where you tell the bartender...the alcohol and they make a drink of their choice. Both were VERY different and very delicious!More

This is a lovely place in downtown, with garden seating. The cocktails were perfect. I recommend the ceviche!

Found this creekside eatery en route to a stop at the SLO mission. The staff was super friendly and informative! We learned we could have their menu items delivered to Avila Beach via Door Dash. So we did!

But the services lagged a little. All restaurants are changing in response to the pandemic, and this place has the advantage of a great outdoor plaza. They were busy, the night before Thanksgiving, which was good to see. I'm not sure if the were understaffed...or just beat luck with our server. This is one of several restaurants owned by an experienced management group that has a number of places in town, so I have high expectations. My wife had the SLO Bowl with shrimp and I had the steak asada, both of which were tasty and properly sized for dinner. We split a dark chocolate torte for dessert, which was suitable rich. Drinking water, with tax and tip, the total was about $89.More

Family agreed this was the best dinner of our entire vacation in San Luis Obispo & we ate at really good restaurants. I was not brave enough to try it, but rest of my family had the paella with squid ink & said it was...by far the best meal of our trip. Bacon wrapped dates, ceviche, & skirt steak were also outstanding.More
