The food is greasy but most importantly the bartenders and management is completely disrespectful. It is like "Middle School" as the managers care more about their employees than they do the customers. All of the managers are puerile and talk behind your back. I heard...many comments from the bartenders and servers. There are a few that take their jobs serious and are outstanding but the rest are disgusting. I have been going to Horatio's for decades. When returned from the east, the first time I walked in, I was kicked out. I went back several times for appetizers and drinks at the bar and while I was there with a regular, I tasted some spicy salt and then it happened. Zachary the bartender yelled at me, in front of the entire restaurant, "Keep your f***ing hands out of the salt! I told him I would buy the salt. He told me "Just don't touch a damn thing". In addition, the men’s restroom was so dirty and disgusting that I had a hard time breathing. I relayed the information to the Head Chef, “Red”, several times. It took them weeks before it was finally cleaned but it still had a foul smell. That is something you do not want to smell if you are dining in a so-called good restaurant. I have smelled better restrooms in any fast food restaurant. I have not gone there since and will never go there again.More

Was seated right away on patio & then ignored for 20 mins!! had to actually call the restaurant to remind them I was seated, they promised manager would be out- never showed. *Did provide free appetizer. Food was good but little pricey. Waitress (Somarly) was...very nice and attentive once she was told I was there. Nice place to watch the sunset.More

I heard a lot of positive feed back but I was greatly disappointed. Service was slow but that's because of staffing issues due to covid. I get that. The food did not warrant the price paid. Could have gotten the same meal at Black Angus...for half the price. Food came out cold and tasteless. Very disappointed!More

Excellent experience for a mid-afternoon snack/meal after arriving to nearby hotel. Right on the water at the marina. Yummy lobster bisque and salad. Wonderful garlic butter bread to start.

I was staying at the Marina Inn next door while hubby had surgery at Kaiser San Leandro. I went in to Horatios for an early dinner after being at the hospital all day. They opened at 3:30 and I got there about 3:50. I was...seated right away and it was not too crowded. My waitress, Tammie checked in on me right away to bring a drink and offered bread. She was very friendly and accomodating. I chose the Almond crusted sea scallops (PAN SEARED GOLDEN BROWN, BEURRE BLANC, CARAMELIZED ONIONS, ASPARAGUS, FIRE ROASTED RED PEPPERS, MASHED POTATOES- from menu). They were absolutely delicious! As was the bread- warmed sour dough slices with butter and garlic. It was such an early dinner that I thought I may get hungry later on so I ordered a cup of clam chowder to go. She brought new bread with the to-go soup. The service was great, the food superb and the location right next to the Inn I stayed at so I could walk to it. I highly recommend it! If I find myself in the area again (we live in Sacramento Valley) I would definitely choose Horatios for dinner!More

We arrived for any early dinner and were seated promptly. Our order included New England clam chowder, which was a very large portion! We also had the seared scallop and prawn fettuccine, as well as the almond-crusted sea scallop dinner. The sea scallops were delicious!...They were accompanied by mashed potatoes with sautéed onion and asparagus tips. The fettuccine was good, but the prawns were a tad over cooked. In all, though, it was a very pleasant dining experience.More

Had lunch at Horatio's yesterday to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. Our wedding reception had been next door at the San Leandro Yacht Club and so this is a very special spot for us. I had an appetizer of Ceaser's Salad while hubby had Clam...Chowder. He loved the clam chowder and be quite picky about it. That speaks volumes for him. We both ordered Filet Mignon and it was perfect! Soft, juicy and cooked exactly how we like it. Set on a small bed of creamy mashed potatoes with a side of asparagus. Both of seriously cleaned our plates. Though we were given steak knives, my husband over looked that and used his butter knife by accident. THAT is how tender the large filets were. Let me tell you how fabulous the starter bread was. It is a light almost artesian bread. They brush the top with garlic butter and serve it in small slice. OMG so good! As a treat the waiter gave us a to-go box with a large amount freshly baked bread. The box was literally steaming as we walked to the care. Love Horatio's and so glad they are open again. Lots of parking and the wait staff is so friendly.More

Horatio's has been our 90 y/o mother’s favorite restaurant for many years. My husband and I are from out of town, but visit as often as we can. Needless to say, we’ve been to Horatio's a lot! When we heard of the (limited) reopening I...made reservations via Open Table ASAP. It was a true pleasure to return! We experienced the staff feeling joyful and grateful to be back to work. Tables were spaced appropriately, hand sanitizer was available, and everybody wore masks unless they/we were eating. Our server was wonderful! He was friendly and efficient. Food was excellent, even better than I remembered. We had halibut on a rice pancake with asparagus shavings. The rice pancake (I forgot the exact name) was really good, and the halibut was done just right. Mom had the Chicken Dijon, her favorite. We also had the always delicious crab appetizer dip. Add to all of the above a wonderful view of the San Leandro Marina, pleasant indoor ambiance, what more could you ask for?!More

My husband and I ordered the dijon chicken and the steelhead trout, but due to significant food sensitivities, I requested that the meals be prepared with no garlic. We enjoyed our warm, delicious, made to order meals, but I didn't get chance to take pictures...before devouring them! The staff included a thoughtful note explaining how our meals were prepared in order to honor our special requests. They even added a bonus dessert! Thank you Horatio's!More
