Haven't been to Paradiso since BC (Before Covid), but wanted a nice dinner with friends recently. We made reservations for 4 on a Saturday night and asked to sit on the patio. The patio was great. It was covered, had heaters, and gave plenty of...space between tables. We started with Caesar salads and clam chowder. The delicious chowder included whole clams. The salads were excellent. I had the Seared Rare Ahi Tuna. Perfectly cooked! One friend had the Rack of Lamb. It came exactly as ordered. Another friend had the Linguini with Fresh Clams. It, too, was a winner. The only mild disappointment was the special, Swordfish on Risotto. After we had ordered, the waitress said they were out of swordfish and could substitute prawns. Good, but not great. We finished with a shared Tiramisu and coffee.More

Had not been here since the pandemic and was delighted to find that everything was not only still good but possibly even better. For example, I never realized they had such a nice outdoor area! Service was attentive and good was prompt and hot (linguine,...chicken, short ribs were all excellent and generous portions). Fairly priced.More

I've never had a problem here ever. We had a large party and the food was awesome. I also order at my lunch hour from here often. I love the food.

The filets we ordered were prepared perfectly. We enjoyed the salads. I ordered a wedge. I have enjoyed this restaurant once before. I would recommend reservations. We wound up in the bar at 6 pm but within minutes there was no room there. Good Service....RecommendedMore

So my husband and I had a special occasion to celebrate....30 years since we were engaged....I wanted to try Paradiso as I'd seen it reviewed a number of times and it looked like it was very popular....really wanted to like this place! So I made...a reservation ....7:15 on Saturday night. so excited to get a prime reservation. I know if you're a walk in....you might get a borderline table or not as great service.....who knows. But my husband let me choose the spot... SO....we arrived 5 minutes early and I signed in at the hostess desk....super busy restaurant...lots of happy people everywhere. Lots of close tables...a few big rooms. It's not a place for an intimate date but still lots of potential. As soon as we walked in I noticed a two-top (table) right next to the front door that was not set. I think they only set and use it when it gets super busy....and i just thought..."PLEASE don't put us there". It's right next to the door and anyone sitting there will have all the people who are waiting for tables standing right next to them! SO..within a few minutes....the hostess sat us there. I think she ran the place....very business like . So honestly, I knew that if we asked to be moved, we would have to wait a while, and I know my husband was already hungry and ....well....he wouldn't want to wait.....and we had a reservation....so I kept and open mind. so we sat.... We ordered the appetizer garlic shrimp, salads, (kale and ceasar) and the Salmon and Prime Rib. A varied selection..... The Kale Salad was delicious...lots of additions that most restaurants don't bother to include...roasted squash, toasted quinoa and shaved parmesan (was supposed to be goat cheese but I guess they ran out). But it was really good. The Shrimp appetizer was also really good....4 garlic shrimp...if you like garlic shrimp you'd love this version. grilled and delicious. Our entrees were also good....my husband entertains business people A LOT and has tried steak houses all over the country...and he said his prime rib was very good..$28 I think....I ordered salmon because 1. It's wild king salmon which is very hard to find in restaurants and 2. It's a great barometer for a chef ...to see if they overcook it. My salmon was delicious....it came with about 3 or 4 fingerling potatoes and a caper sauce which i had on the side but was delicious.. I would have liked something more...maybe some roasted vegetables or a least a few more potatoes since $26 for about 5 oz of salmon is fair but .i have a good appetite....I would have liked a little something more. BUT ...the salmon was cooked perfectly. THE experience, however....was like sitting in a bus station with people standing right next to your table, the door opening and shut about every 5 minutes. I put my coat on my lap because it was so drafty.. SO bummed that they put people paying $120 for dinner...I'd imagine that's pretty average for 2 people....(and thats with no alcohol) at a table next to the door where there are 10-15 people standing RIGHT next to you the entire night. most people waiting were extremely courteous and put their backs to us to try and give us a little privacy. SERVICE was very nice. Our waiter was very kind and wanted us to have a good experience. He could not really see our table from his other tables because we were surrounded by people standing...so we had to waive him down when we needed something...but he definitely tried his best. SO... for $120 for that experience...there are just too many good restaurants....they focus on getting people in and out over diners experience....which , I guess....is working for them for the most part...cuz it was very busy.More

Has it been 4 years since my last review? Came here with a friend and we had lunch. He ordered the garlic prawns which were delish and for his entree, he had the petrale sole. I ordered the fried calamari and organic kale salad, trying...to be half healthy. The fried calamari was crispy but little soggy from the oil. It was a good portion but I wish it wasn't soggy. The kale salad was good and hearty and I had to take the rest home. For dessert, we had coffee and he ordered the vanilla bean gelato with Ghiradelli chocolate and I had the coconut almond crunch gelato and you could taste the coconut pieces! All in all, it was a good lunch with good company! Service was attentive and friendly.More

The food is amazing here. If you like pasta, pizza, etc this is the place. Prices are not economic , going with small children might be hard due yo wait.

I have typically been here for lunch, as it is the best sit down restaurant for lunch in the area. This is well prepared American-California fare with a decent price range. The salads and wood fired pizzas are excellent. As I recall they do have...a full bar. If you are meeting for lunch during work hours, you can be in and out in reasonable time. I would make reservations.More

Went here to visit with my brother and sister-in-law. The food was pricey, but excellent. I started with the best wedge salad I've ever had, big but not excessive; and followed up with a truly excellent burger and fries. The only downside would be the...price (but you get what you pay for) and the wait for a table (we didn't have reservations - MAKE RESERVATIONS!)More

Went to this restaurant after golf in San Leandro and tried their linguine with clams, highly recommended by a friend. I was not disappointed as the clams were freshly cooked in their shell and each shell has clam meat still clinging inside waiting to be...dislodged and consumed. The clam meat was tender and juicy as only fresh, live clams could offer. The pasta was proportionately just right and the broth-like sauce was so tasty that I had to dip my bread into it after I finished the clam and pasta. Highly recommended to try this dish if you're there. We also ordered the fried calamari which was not quite as good as the batter was kind of bland tasting and not crispy enough. Service was attentive as our waiter was checking on our table regularly to make sure everything was ok. I would dine here again the next time I am in the neighborhood...More
