The staff at the hotel recommended this to us. I made a reservation for three on open table. We had to walk about a block to get there. Nice safe neighborhood and a nice evening for a walk. We were early for our reservation but they seated us right away. The place was very cozy with lovely lighting and a nice layout. I ordered the most expensive chianti by the glass and my colleagues ordered beer. The chianti had been open and had that vinegar after taste and was disappointing. It took 20 minutes after the drinks arrived for our wait staff to take an order. I ordered calamari for the table and a shrimp cocktail for my entree. The calamari had a LOT of garlic so if that is not your thing.... the shrimp were dusted with paprika and other spices which covered up the fact that they were not fully deveined and therefore...gritty. The bread was wonderful with a better than average olive oil for dipping. TA ratings were 4 star. I would not really recommend this place...just a bit more attention to detail could change that.

Spring Break Visit

We were coming back from a visit to Hawaii and had a one night stopover in San Jose near the airport. We looked at Trip Advisor for a nearby restaurant and found Vito's close by. (FYI, this was just a the start of the COVID 19 and we could see the the downturn in traffic at the Airport, Hotel and traffic.) We walked over to Vito's and quickly noticed it was more than just a pizza parlor and we felt under dressed, but we decided to go ahead and go in. We asked for a table of 5, and even though we did not have a reservation, they quickly put two tables together for us. Right off the start our waiter welcomed us a made us felt welcome to Vito's . We got comfortable, looked over the menu and started to enjoy ourselves. As they brought out some bread, we ordered a bottle of wine. The menu was not overwhelming with to many choices which was great. We each ordered something a little different. The dishes were excellent and the prices were actually fairly reasonable. We had to have dessert, so we asked our waiter for some suggestion and his picks we spot on. I can not say enough about our waiter and wish I could remember his name. We got out bill and left a sizable tip and went outside to wait on a lyft ride ( just tired and did not want to walk back to the hotel). As we waited, our waiter came out to let us know we totaled up our bill incorrectly as our tip and total did not add up, and if Vito's went with what we said was the total, then we would have way over tipped. Again what honesty. Not sure if we will ever make it back to San Jose, but if we do, I can insure we will be coming back to Vito's

Amazing food, fantastic service.

We had our son's and daughter-in-law's wedding rehearsal dinner here. The food is amazing. Everything was wonderful. So many of our friends came up to us and told us that they plan on coming back to the restaurant for dinner. The staff is amazing. Very attentive. They took great care of us. Everyone had a wonderful time. It is the perfect place for an event. The amazing food just tops it off!!

Mediocre Food for Premium Price

My wife and I went to Vito’s expecting to have an enjoyable evening and nice meal. We were disappointed. Our reservation was for 7:30 pm and as soon as we were seated, our waiter began rushing us through our meal because the kitchen was closing at 8 pm. The restaurant did not allow sufficient time to accommodate guests arriving at 7:30 and the last reservation should be at 7 pm. We orderered calamari as an appetizer, veal parmigiana to share, and chocolate mousse with coffee for dessert. The calamari was ok, but not enough sauce was provided; the dipping sauce was gone with half of the order still remaining. The veal was “leathery” - something I would expect from a Denny’s restaurant. Dinner rolls were served well after the veal was served; they were slightly overdone and not at all enticing - Denny’s would have done better. The chocolate mousse was not very “chocolaty” and the coffee was lukewarm and not that good; McDonalds serves better coffee. We complained to one of the owners and he said he would give our feedback to the kitchen staff, essentially taking no ownership or responsibility for this mediocre performance in his restaurant. Perhaps our experience at Vito’s would have been better if we had arrived earlier in the evening when the kitchen staff was not in such a hurry to shut down and leave for the evening but this is no excuse. Needless to say, will not be returning to Vito’s.

High expectations, and it measured up!

A co worker knew of Vitos and said it was a great place to eat! The service was exceptional and the food was first rate. I had the Penne pasta Bolagnese which exceptional. Another thing that impressed me was the speed of the service Lou ( the waiter) and Auda (the server) provided- it was like reading minds! I would come back here for sure and bring friends!

Excellent food!

We ordered three take out dinners from this cute place. Everyone loved the food! (Meat bolognese, cheese ravioli & pasta primavera and three delicious rolls!) The restaurant looked cozy inside and they also had an outdoor patio which I’m told is popular during lunch hours with patrons who work in the area. The restaurant is located in a business district.

VITO'S IS THE PLACE TO GO!

What a great selection on Vito's menu, and the food itself was fresh and fantastic. The staff, Efrain in particular, was attentive and also let my friend and I gab on and on without getting annoyed. And even filled up our water glasses. Not everyone does that, right?! We had the chocolate mousse for dessert... Oh My Goodness it was delicious. Clean bathrooms and parking was easy. When you go, meet the owner. George. Delightful and passionate about taking great care of customers. ENJOY!

Pleasant Surprise

Stopped here because it was across the street from our hotel, what a pleasant surprise! Great local Italian restaurant. Enjoyed soups and main dishes. Too full for desert 😔. Jose our server was excellent and very helpful with food choices. I would definitely come back.

In San Jose for the night. Vito’s is very close to the airport hotels. Found it on T. A. and VERY happy we went. Great bottle of Davis Bynum Pinot noir to start. Then Caesar salad. Very good!! Wife had eggplant and I had chicken alla griglia which were both excellent. Server was Ismal and he was GREAT.

GREAT FOOD, GREAT SERVICE. Efrain was our server and we appreciated his perfect ratio of attention to letting us talk. The spinach salad was fresh and delicious. And we split the chocolate mousse that was SO ridiculously good. Kinda wish we'd each ordered a dessert... Next time we will! Also, there is indoor and outdoor seating; terrific location; easy parking. And finally... we had fun talking with the owner, George. He's had Vito's for more than 17 years and having been there now, I know why! ENJOY!

Dinner with niece at end of California visit. Staying at nearby Airport Hampton Inn & Suites. Picked from TripAdvisor nearby. Sat inside. Very pleasant dining room. Excellent service. Party of three. All three meals were excellent. Will certainly return. Highly recommend!
