I have had Ethiopian food at plenty many places, homemade to restaurant versions so I know my Ethiopian food taste buds well. The food here is good. Our server was this beautiful charming young lady who was courteous and pleasant. Thank you for helping us enjoy the food. There honey winner is something we always look forward to with Ethiopian... Regular here for lunch. Good service and food ... They have live music on weekend dinners (though that is average!). The main issue is the wait on weekends and they have not much space to sit or even stand indoors. Vegetarian combination and Shuro-wot are my favorite. Sambusa is good but gets over many times if you come late for... More

Nice place..very busy therefore expect an hour wait. Also you must be willing to share meals from a large plate. No individual plate for eating from. Ready to use your fingers as well. All the food was great - vegetarian, chicken and lamb. Only a single dessert option was available.

I went for a weekday lunch with a friend. Seating was quick, friendly service, and excellent food. We shared a vegetarian combo and had leftovers for lunch - portion sizes are big. Single unisex bathroom in back of area but was clean.

A really warm Ethiopian restaurant in San Jose. I went for the sambussa which is lentil filled pastries with spicy sauce. The other item I ordered was veg combo plate but quickly realized that I will not be able to finish it so went for the spicy red curry with lentils - yemisir wot. The sambussa was delicious and crispy... More

We had the veg combo plater and a beef dish that was perfectly spicey and served with delicious cheese. The honey wine complimented the food well. The baklava was divine! I have never had Ethiopian food, so I cannot vouch for authenticity, but I considered my meal here to be very good. We went on a Sunday at 2:00. It... More

My Ethiopian friend recommended this place to me. He suggested that we arrive early for dinner. We got there at 5:45 and we were seated immediatley. (Come early or be prepared to wait, this place is VERY popular.) The service was prompt and the suggestions of different dishes were very helpful to those in the party that had never had... More

This is always crowded regardless of the day. We were a group of four people each with a different choice of pallet and everyone was pretty impressed with the food. A must visit place to try ethiopian food.

Many friends have been here and have highly recommended this restaurant. I, on the other hand, found the food hard to digest. The bread made me feel I'll. I will try it again to see if I have the same reaction.

Zeni's is one of the most authentic Ethiopian restaurants in the area. The food is excellent. It can be spicy, but you if tell your server and they can make it less spicy. You have a choice as to whether you sit in the authentic Ethiopia section or the American section. If you choose the Ethiopian section, be prepared to... More
