How is Chocatoo rated?

Whenever I'm in a place with chocolate chip cookies I have to try them! I travel a lot, so I'm eating them a lot, and I'm always searching for the best ones. I think Chocatoo may have the best in the South Bay and possibly...the whole Bay Area. The cookies are large, thick and filled with so many chocolate chunks you'd swear you're eating a whole candy bar in a cookie. The outer edges have just enough crispness to make them easy to hold and the centers are melt-in-your-mouth soft. The aroma exudes richness and made it impossible for me to keep them in the bag on the counter at home. Not what I was expecting to find in a location mostly known for bars, bands and food stalls, but boy am I glad I did!More

Heavy, rich, tasty cookies

About the cookie: I tried the peanut butter cookie on the recommendation of the server. It had a peanut butter cup baked on the outside and it was full of peanut butter chips. It’s a slightly improved version of a traditional peanut butter cookie. It’s...a large cookie- probably can be shared. It’s rich and tasty. My overall impression is that at $5 it’s an okay cookie. The atmosphere as part of the Market Square is an engaging part of the experience. In addition to cookies, they have a case full of delicious looking pastries.More

A treat for everyone's taste!

There are lots of desserts at this stand - all look delectable - but we opted for cookies and a small cupcake. The peanut butter cup cookie was so incredible - I stopped back later in the week for another one! They even offered to...warm them for us. The cupcake is a small one, for those who like a tiny treat. This shop is definitely worth a visit.More

Tasty elegant deserts at a descent price

After having Calamari at Anchors, this place is perfect for a small tasty treat whether it's a chocolate chip cookie or a delicate parfait.

top spot

Situated in market square is a nice break for a good coffee, better than the average coffee shop, they serve real coffee, not drip.

Tons of sweets!

My husband and I were in town visiting for the weekend. After catching a San Jose Giants baseball game, we were in the mood for something sweet. My husband did a search and found this place. There were so many delicious looking treats to choose...from. I ended up with the chocolate lava cake. It was good, but not as amazing as it could be. But it was chocolate-y and warm, so it was pretty much exactly what I was looking for. My husband had their peanut butter brownie. For later we got a couple other items--s'morcon and a couple macarons. The S'morcon was yummy. The macrons were also tasty.More

Everything looked so tempting!

We stopped by for dessert after eating at -Henry's - was soooooo hard to choose! The tarts looked amazing and so did the bacon chocolate thingie. We had soft, warm Reese's and White chocolate macadamia cookies. Yum! Definitely must try more!

Eclairs!

Chocatoo has a wide variety of delicious pastries. It is situated in the San Pedro Market square which makes it a convenient place to to to grab dessert after having lunch or dinner. Prices are a bit pricey.

Average at best.

After walking around San Jose 'market' area I was really looking forward to a great bit of chocolate. Sadly, this was NOT the place for GREAT chocolate - average at best is all they could come up with.

Two sisters serving dessert

They make there own truffles! Dessert alicious! Cookies are the big sellers throughout the day, but my friend ate one of the chocolate dessert cakes and just had to have another. I had the lava chocolate cake, warm and tender. I only had one, I...had self control, but was not easy to resist.More

Fantastic cakes!

I love the cakes at this place! The best is the flour less chocolate cake. So rich, melt in your mouth. The my also make these giant freshly baked cookies. Hmmm. Yummy.
