Went as guests of daughter in law and husband while visiting for Christmas holidays! You feel like you are in Germany as soon as you walk up to the door and into a German pub with a long bar which you walk by to the...More

The food was delish! It tasted just like my grandmother's Austrian cooking and like being in Vienna. In fact, strudel was best we've had. I had schnitzel and hubby had goulash. So good. Also, good German beer and mulled wine. Yum!

Lots of atmosphere. I noted that the prices during Octoberfest were hiked a lot from their regular menu, neither were the small plates offered. The soup good, veal shank could hardly get a knife thru it, not well prepared, potato dumpling, a big round gummy...More

This is like being in Germany, from the food to the beer and wine. The customer service was excellent along with the dinner. The warm potato salad is very tasty.

Maybe on Tuesday nights the main chef, or even the sous chef take off. But the food quality was just ok, nothing great. I had the famous pork chop, but it tasted "off" - just short of rancid. Soup was the only good part of...More

This was a delightful place to have dinner. The "small plate" -- four bratwurst, sauerkraut and noodles -- was enough for a meal, washed down with a choice of good German beers.

This is an established restaurant in downtown San Jose, featuring a friendly neighborhood bar. They have a beautiful outside patio and a great service staff. Unfortunately, the soup we ordered was a tad salty , as were two of the six entrees we had ordered....More

This place reminded of an old city tavern as you walk in. They have a beer garden area and highly recommend. Had great food...large servings and great beer. Was there for a late lunch. I’d definitely go back and try other Menu items.
