I've visited this dinner many times and although the food is decent the service leaves much to be desired! It's extremely slow, I think they should just leave a stock of things on each table and call it a day.. Like IHOP, just give me a jug of coffee and I will leave you alone. I wouldn't normally come here... More

Service is always great. Mostly come here for breakfast, very generous portions. Lunch is equally filling, my favorite is the "Ortega Burger".

Exponentially better than my last visit. It was really hopping on a Saturday morning, but food came fast and plentiful. For $10 you could easily feed a family of 3-4 depending on appetites. Good diner.

We picked this place based MOSTLY on the kitschy sign and exterior and also because we were simply ready to eat and it was close. The reviews of the place were iffy and, as we found out, pretty accurate. The place is visually appealing, it's a beautiful example of a mid-century diner and the interior is immaculate. Very clean and... More

If you find this helpful please click the helpful link below. This restaurant is on the way from LA to San Francisco and you may be tempted by the menu prices listed to stop at a non fast food breakfast spot... Keep looking. The owners are wonderful and gracious, they are also cheap. They understaff this place so bad you... More

Price is good and the food is good. In fact, you get a great deal of food for the price and they will adjust anything on the menu to accommodate your tastes. Truly at a place like James you go for the slice of local flavor as much as the food. It's comfort food, eggs, biscuits, burgers, fries, and any... More

I wish there was some way to rate it between average & very good. You get a lot of bang for your buck that is for sure. It is a HUGE menu with lots of different options that are all fairly cheap. For $9 I got steak and eggs and 3 pancakes that were bigger than my head. Was it... More

James is one of those places that every local northeast Valley resident knows. And when they come back, they go back. Giant fluffy pancakes, crispy waffles, and It's run by a Greek couple, and the enormous menu celebrates many Greek ingredients that aren't typically diner fare (feta cheese in omlettes for one), and they also cater to the local clientele... James family restaurant is a great place for people of all ages and its food is incredibly delicious. The service was great because the waitresses are very friendly. They should maybe get rid of the man on the sign though.
