If you're in San Clemente and up for trying something different - don't miss Village Mediterranean Rim. What my husband and I call a small "hole in the wall" restaurant - you'll find some wonderful, flavorful dishes like Antelope, Lamb or Chicken Tagine. Don't think they always have the antelope available but it's really good. If you're not adventurous they... More

We were attracted by the several Tagines on the menu, and the rest of the menu sounded fantastic. This is a lovely restaurant in San Clemente with a great ambience and service. The menu is one of the best I have seen. And the Tagines sounded genuine. We started with the Pear salad. Fantastic. And then the Lamb Tagine for... More

What a surprise to experience this delicious Mediterranean cuisine! The restaurant is intimate and charming-like something you find in Europe. I suggest making a reservation or coming early. Its a great place to be if you are a "foodie." The service was personable and attentive; There is something for everyones taste. We had the Ossobucco(heavenly) Beef Cheeks (heavenly) and Sea... This is a must visit when in the area and worth a trip from LA and San Diego. We had the lamb shank, lamb osso buck, beef cheek, New Zealand lamb chops and steak with our party. Every meal was incredible and the flavors jumped off the plate. Tried several desert however the ginger cheesecake was top shelf. Bring your... More

This restaurant brings international type dining to our doorstep. Much simpler and less costly than exotic travels, but just as enjoyable.

This is a hidden gem. There aren't many tables and the menu is small but executed with a precision and art that is beyond reproach. The chef knows what he's doing and the service staff are clearly proud of the food. We've never had a bad dish there or a bad meal. It doesn't do a full bar -- wine... More

I've eaten here for several years and never had a bad meal. The menu includes dishes cooked in tajine ccokware, various wild game choices as specials, and an interesting choice of appetizers, soups, fish, and a decent wine list. Make reservations as there is limited seating.

My wife and I stayed in Dana Point for a couple days and we were looking for a nice restaurant for dinner, Out of many, many good possibilities, we chose Village Mediterranean Rim in San Clemente. Good choice! We had maybe the best hummus we've ever tasted---hummus with grilled tomatoes and extra virgin olive oil---a delightful poached pear salad, a... More

This might be one of san clemente's hidden jewels. Food is insanely good. You would not expect the place to be as good if you just walked in front of it. Unpretentious spot, but legit. Owner is there at the kitchen every day. The only cons is that is kind of warm and loud inside. The restaurant is small and... More

They are not consistent with their hours. If they are a little slow they will close before their posted hours and you will be out of luck. They do not care and will basically tell you that your out of luck! The food is excellent
