Had lunch with two friends here this week and it was a great find! We had pastrami sandwiches and a 'french onion dip' sandwich and everything was fresh and delicious! They have a number of great offerings to eat, and a great selection of beers on tap including a number from Belgium. We didn't try them but we will when... More

Their Reuben sandwich did not disappoint. Piled high with half a pound of juicy, tender meat, the sandwich was full of flavor and perfectly cooked. I got mine topped with coleslaw and melted Swiss cheese. Delicious. My wife ordered their fig salad, and the dish was massive. Bigger than our face. Oh, and she said it was really tasty too.... I was craving a Ruben sandwich so my friends took me here. Omg, I was not disappointed. It's everything you want it to be. Delicious juicy meat, gooey cheese and amazing sauerkraut. We also got the Philly Cheesesteak, what a winner. I'd definitely go back again. Yum

My wife loved her Rubin but my hamburger was over cooked. I asked for medium-rare but got well-done. Beers are a little small (.25 l) for the price.

We arrived at the restaurant at around 12:30 pm; the place was very busy. Fortunately there was a booth ready for us. Being small eaters, we decided to share a sandwich and an order of garlic fries. I wanted my Ruben sandwich with everything that was supposed to be on it. My husband does not want anything on his but... More

The best pastrami - ever... Come for the food and stay for the beer! Really great pastrami and I should know being from the East Coast, I've had Carnegie, Stage, Katz's ... And great beer selection ...

I read the reviews about the pastrami and that is why we chose this restaurant. My husband ordered the Reuben and I ordered the Cheesesteak . I preferred the cheesesteak and so did he. Don't get me wrong the Reuben was good but the Cheesesteak was better! Enjoy!

I had read the reviews about this restaurant before leaving for our trip to the Bay area. We love pastrami, so we were eager to try the pastrami sandwich here. We ordered the Swiss and Mustard and it did not disappoint. We split a sandwich and added an order of fries. The fries were typical, nothing special.

Yum! The Refuge is just the ticket when we have a yen for an East Coast style Deli Sandwich...Reuben, Pastrami...even a Philly Cheesesteak is on the menu, (not like South Philly, but good). Very popular. Featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. It is none of those, but the casual vibe and easy, tasty food draws a crowd. Belgian and other... More

Came here with my hubby and an LD visiting friend. Service was great, Rueben was good, French fries were perfect and the bread pudding is unbelievable, just as in Menlo Park. The atmosphere is not quite as good. The San Carlos place is half the size and does not have the charming area to eat that's inside and yet outside.... More
