We got into San Bruno late and they were just closing up. We were starving and the wonderful Southern lady from Louisiana took these weary travellers under her wings and fed us the BEST ribs and beans we've ever had! It may seem somewhat pricey, but it's worth every penny, for sure! Best meal we've had in ages! Definitely a... More

The owner was courteous and sweet. When our order was up she called us by our state, "Wisconsin, your order is up"! It was like a 10-15 wait for our food, but totally worth it. We took it back to our hotel..even after a short walk the food was still warm and amazing. The potatoes seemed to be instant, but... More

This place has the best barbecue in town hands down. Family run, the staff is so warm and friendly making you feel right at home. The food is a little pricey but for a home cooked meal it's well worth it. I got a huge meal enough to feed four for $24. I absolutely love this place and anyone who... More

Rib shack is true to the southern flavor that you find in great BBQ. Ms Lottie's love to please and see people enjoy food is a testament to her southern hospitality. Great que, wonderful atmosphere, and a whole lot of love. This will be my go to place when in San Bruno.

The location is nothing much. In fact, you have to be sharp eyed to spot it, but the ribs make up for it. Cooked over a wood fired pit, they come in different types, sizes and modes, but they're all finger-lickin' good.

The day had been marginal. Flight to SFO delayed almost 3 hrs from Boston. The GF and I both in pretty bad moods. We were staying just down the street at Ritz, waiting for an early morning rental car to drive north. The manager suggested Rib Shack. We walked there and brought the food back to our room, stopping at... More

I stopped by here on a lark and got the chicken and pork rib combo. The chicken was good but the pork ribs were excellent. Best I've ever had. I was disappointed they were out of beef ribs (my favorite) and the sides I wanted - corn on the cob and the tomato/cucumber salad. I got the potato salad and... More

This was the place to go for baby-back ribs. It's appears to have changed owners, and the taste and quality of the food has changed too. Unfortunately not for the best. The two times I was there the ribs were dry and like shoe soles. I'm now looking for a good rib place...hard to find these days!
