We ate here twice, once for dinner and then for breakfast the next morning. Both times the food was excellent as was the service. If you want a good meal at a good value price, I would recommend this chain food restaurant.
I have used Black Bear Diners before across California when visiting, but only for breakfasts. Good food and service, generous portions. I arrived in Salinas mid-evening and found there was a Black Bear Diner next to hotel, so decided to get dinner there. The young staff were pleasant and friendly, starters and drink were fine. Right next door to the Laurel Inn, walking distance. This one, food and service was very good. Selection and prices were also very good. Went in for dessert then came back for breakfast!
I had to have the pancakes! I'm a fan of the pancakes and they are huge! The coffee was delicious and my server Faith was amazing! My boyfriend had the Country Fried Steak and it was huge! Best value, awesome service, friendly staff!
Visited here for brunch. The place has an amazing aura which makes you starve. The service is quick and food was mouth watering. Loved the sauces which is not their own production are also complimentary with the food.; prepared with different types of chilies.
If you love big portions and home cooking this is the place. But be warned come early as this place fills up quickly! especially on Sundays. I recommend the volcano can never finish it but order it in memory of my stepdad.
As overseas visitors, our first ever time in an American Diner. Next to the Laurel Inn motel, very conveniently just off the US101 freeway. Staff were very friendly and most helpful in explaining the meals and choices. The meals were very good and we thought were great value.
This is one of our favorite place to eat breakfast. The servings are huge and the food taste great. My wive loves the chicken fried steak and I really like their linguisa and eggs. The price is right and the people are friendly.
My dad is 96 and loves to eat out. We even had Christmas dinner here. Best decision I ever made. They wait staff is super and the food is plentiful and satisfying. It feels like home to me, so it is my favorite when I visit family.
