We visited on a Monday morning, it was not busy, service was fast and friendly. The food was well prepared. Perfectly fine breakfast in a unique and interesting building in old town Salinas.

This place has consistency yummy food and wonderful service. It can get packed for weekend breakfast so a good tip is to sit at the "bar". Also huge portions so sometimes you can split an order esp. If you get the potatoes vs. Hash browns. Amazing one made pancake creative flavors each day to try. Eggs always cooked to order.

First time trying this place even though I live in the area. I wish I had started eating here sooner! I came on a Saturday morning and people were waiting outside. I expected a wait but was seated right away. As other reviews have said, the service is very friendly and professional. The menu has omelette and pancake options, Mexican... More

Our server remembered us from a YEAR ago. We were only there once. Not sure what that says about my children, but she was awesome. I wish I could remember her name, but alas, no. Breakfast was big and delish. It is worth it to get off our lazy, vacationing bums and get here before it closes at 2pm.

we had breakfast here, there was about a out a 45 min wait. as breakfasts go it was okay, portions are small to average. I had the banana bread French toast, 3 small pieces of bread, bacon & 1 egg. coffee is good. It seems like a local place, crowded on the weekend we were there. service was ok.

Warmly greeted upon entering. Packed at 11:30 on Monday morning. Servers bustling about. Patrons deep in conversation. A host walked is to our seat, "table or booth?", he asked. Delicious decaf coffee served by the carafe. Order was taken by friendly staff, unfortunately she didn't give us her name. (Heather, which was obtained from the bill.) Basic Burger for $10.99,... First Awakenings is a wonderful little place with great food with a local healthy flare. You'll have a chance to dine on dishes you can make uniquely yours by adding your favorite veggies or meat. It can be crowded and sometimes there's a line but it gives you a chance to look around downtown Salinas. On warm days they serve... More

It's THE go-to place for breakfast or lunch! But be prepared for a little wait outside, it's worth it.
