This small place is a hidden gem of Salinas. Everything is done on site in those huge smoking barrels. Everything is super delicious. But come early, as they closes once all meat is sold and that happens often!

Love this little place! Stop in and have anything on the menu and you will not be disappointed. Silverware is optional and parking is sparse.

BBQ is a very personal thing to many folks. Having just moved from the Kansas City area, we were quite familiar with many kinds of BBQ and understand that personal preference plays a part in this review. The place is small, which is no problem unless you are planning for a large group to dine in. The people here were... More

Great BBQ & Sauce. It was close to closing when I mosied on in with a hankerin for some good BBQ. It was so good in fact that many of the items were sold out. The pulled pork & the hot link were amazing! Their spicy sauce is one of the best I have ever had!

Found this gem from my iExit app as we were driving to Pismo beach. Definitely worth going out of your way for if you want some great BBQ. My husband's brisket sandwich was delicious. Softest meat he's ever tasted. He got the 8oz of meat thinking it may be too big but he had no problem finishing It! My daughter... More

Salinas City BB! is a hole in the wall - with a perfect front porch for a BBQ place. What it lacks in decor - it makes up in food. The BBQ, sides and service are right out of the South. The food is authentic, serving sizes big and service great. My only minor complaint is that they do run... More

My wife and I went for lunch. We had ribs, brisket with cole slaw and beans. We loved everything except the beans we only liked them. The service was quick and friendly. I would very much recommend this BBQ

This is the best BBQ I have found in California. I am from GA and had about surrendered to mediocre BBQ when I read about this place on the Kosta Browne Winery blog. We made a special trip to the small town of Salinas (40 miles) and it proved to be worth it. The brisket is terrific and the beans... More

Reminds of some Texas style BBQ! The later you go the less variety you have of meats to choose from. They only make so much of certain meats. I went at 6pm and as I sat and ate they began to run out of items from the menu. As soon as you arrive they tell you what they are serving.... More

Restaurant is in a converted home. Atmosphere is quaint and no frills...curtains resemble laundry on clothesline. Tables are covered in clear plastic over colored cloths. Food is excellent. Well smoked and seasoned. My husbands favorite is the rib sandwich , which is often sold out.
