A great place to have a conversation with your family, friends, or team

A few new members of my team and I went out to dinner last night to celebrate winning a contract for a new project. We had some great conversations, laughed a lot, and all enjoyed the evening. The food was delicious. It tasted almost homemade. Service was friendly and attentive. The Village Restaurant is definitely a place we'll go back to again.

Came because of the "Italian" food....

When I first came in I wasn't sure they had properly advertised themselves as an Italian restaurant. There are some Italian dishes on the menu, but I thought that was probably a stretch and is why I drive halfway across town. That being said, we had a really good meal here. I wouldn't suggest coming if you are in search of an Italian restaurant, but are looking for a good restaurant in general. One instance is I asked if the meatballs in the Meatballs and Spaghetti dish were homemade. They're not. I asked if the lasagna was home made. It is. I ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo with Chicken. It was really good! Hubby had the Caesar Salad with Blackened Chicken. He said it was excellent. Good food, mixed menu.

Great Breakfast and Service

We paid a quick trip to The Village for breakfast and we had a nice breakfast. Very friendly staff and good service. Price was moderate. There are few places to eat BF in the area, so we were happy The Village was located there.

Friendly staff.. just okay food

Went here with some co workers for a birthday lunch. The staff was great and very welcoming and hospitable. The food was just ok. The spoons were consistently dirty which makes you wonder. They didn't have salsa for Mexican omelettes which was odd, the oj was from a gallon container, the ham was from a can. I ordered a burger and it was just okay.. nothing too exciting.. they did come out and give us a free cheesecake slice for the birthday boy which was nice. The food was just average and I'd probably not recommend it.

A little pricey but really good food!

We both had the fish sandwich...so good! It had lots of flavor. Service was friendly and fast. We’ll definitely go again! Overall, the majority of the menu seems kinda pricey, but after having the fish sandwich, I’m sure everything else on the menu is also worth the price!

It's a nice looking place, the servers are friendly. Ordered the huevos rancheros and was disappointed. There was no flavor at all even though it said it had chorizo something I expected to pack a lot of flavor. The avocado slices where harder than apples it was not ripe at all, the whole beans under the eggs where not well cooked still a little on the raw side. The food was not worth the price. I will probably not go again.

Family dining with an upscale touch

We started eating at the Village when it first opened several years ago. The food is very good, with the normal selection of family favorites, but they also offer some specialty dishes that are excellent. My favorite dish is the chicken piccata, to me better than other much more expensive restaurants. My husband and his friend like the tri-tip sandwich. I haven't ever eaten breakfast there, but we have lunch or dinner there often. All main entrees are served with delicious garlic mashed potatoes, perfectly cooked veggies and your choice of an excellent salad or clam chowder. The owners are very nice as are the servers. I recommend this place to others and they all become fans.

Delicious Foor at an Affordable Price

The Village Restaurant in the the Safeway shopping Center on Constitution Ave in North Salinas is a hidden gem! It is hidden in a corner of the shopping center, not easily seen from the street. I have only had dinner here but have been told their breakfasts are outstanding, as well. Dinners I have had include: steak, salmon, cesar salad with tri tip, pasta and others that I can not recall. Everything is served piping hot with warm fresh dinner rolls and veggies. They also have a decent wine list, serving by the glass at an affordable price.

Hidden gem in Salinas

Hidden in a shopping center but great food for a great value. Breakfast, lunch or dinner.....I have never had a meal that I did not completely enjoy. Food is good, service is good and portions are ample, a decent wine list and most are served by the glass if you wish. Whether you have breakfast, lunch or dinner the prices are very reasonable for what you get. It is nice to have somewhere to dine in Salinas that is not a Mexican restaurant and I do like Mexican food. It can get noisy if there are children in the restaurant.

Great Family Place

Not worth the money.

This poor place is in a bad location in my opinion. The food isnt bad, its average. Nothing special. But they charge like they are a 4 star establishment. I would go back for thr food and somewhat the service but the value is terrible. I want to like this place but my pocket just cant allow it.
