This is a wonderful wine country restaurant with an a-l-a carte menu rather than prix fixe small bites. It is located in a large old house with a very pleasant outside dining area in a covered patio next to a lovely garden. The indoor dining...More
We had a delicious dinner at Goose and Gander last night- thoroughly enjoyed the comfortable space, great service and well prepared meal. We recommend the roasted cauliflower appetizer, swordfish puttanesca, duck and burgers. The desserts were pretty good too.

Thank you so much for coming to Goose & Gander, and then telling the world about your experience.
My timing (between lunch and dinner?) may have been off to really enjoy G&G but I left disappointed. Offered a seat at the bar vs outside or inside (where I thought the "bar" was located), I really did enjoy the downstairs "grotto" but was hoping...More
We decided to go to Goose & Gander for dinner after spending the afternoon visiting wineries in the area. Though we made our reservations at the last minute, the restaurant was able to accommodate our party after a reasonable wait — and the food was...More
Great lunch stop in between winery visits in the heart of Napa Valley. Wood paneled walls, fireplace; I half expected to see Edgar Allen Poe walk in. Food was great! My wife had the octopus, tender and grilled to perfection. My fish and chips were...More
Very comfortable dining in an old house. Very interesting menu. The squid ink pasta carbonara was amazing and the scallops on a corn and huitlacoche relish was terrific as well. Go early to try their speakeasy-esc bar downstairs. Bet meal we had in St. Helena.
We ate here recently with friends between visiting vineyards. I had a grass fed burger that was delicious. My health conscious friends ordered salads. I won. My burger was perfect with a nice Cabernet. We sat outside in the covered area by the coy-filled pond....More
My husband and I enjoyed dinner here last night. It’s a beautiful restaurant in a renovated house. My old -fashioned was good but watered down after making the trip up from the downstairs bar. The sticky pig ears were spot on - crunchy, fatty, sweet...More
We had lunch here before hitting a few wineries. We later learned that the bar serves terrific drinks after hours. So, naturally, we visited after dinner and we were not disappointed! The service was terrific and the drinks were awesome.
