Farmstead at Long Meadow Ranch delivers an exceptional farm-to-table experience in the heart of Napa Valley. The restaurant, helmed by Executive Chef Stephen Barber, showcases seasonal American farmhouse cooking, featuring ingredients sourced from Long Meadow Ranch’s own organic gardens and grass-fed livestock. Set in a beautifully restored barn, it offers community dining, a full bar, and a warm, inviting atmosphere. Beyond the restaurant, guests can enjoy the cozy wine bar featuring glass pours, casual bites, wood-fired pizzas, whiskey, cocktails, and tasting experiences. Unwind in the cafe and garden lounge, or explore the culinary gardens where much of the produce is grown. It's the perfect destination for a true taste of Napa’s food, wine, and agriculture.
MICHELIN Guide: Good cooking
For a down-home (but still Napa-chic) alternative to the Cal-Ital wine country grind, follow your nose to this Long Meadow Ranch-owned farmhouse, whose intoxicating smoker is parked right in the front yard. The cathedral ceiling, old-school country music and boisterous locals give Farmstead a permanent buzz; for quieter dining, hit the front terrace.Dishes are laden with ranch-grown products utilized in outstanding preparations like a summery salad of heirloom tomatoes and creamy burrata with salsa verde. The bone-in heritage porkchop with apple chutney on a bed of creamy jalapeno grits and grilled broccolini is spot-on. Take the farm-fresh flavor with you—on weekends the restaurant's stands are brimming with produce, beef and honey for purchase.

We used to live nearby and have visited several times over the years. Comfortable menu items with meat, chicken and fish. Not much vegetarian, but everything is good. Outside seating is great as it’s covered with clear wall tent. We enjoyed trout and burger. Tough competition as many places serve high end expensive burger. At these prices you have very high expectations when compared to an In-Out…. It was large, tasty with a little bbq flavor. Condiments beside cheese were meager, with extra charge for avocado, tomato, etc. We chuckled when they added $1.00 for replacing potatoes with French fries. The trout was very good, moist and tasty. Enjoy the location and ambience. Look at bill when you get home.

This restaurant deserves all the stars it has earned. Our party of six enjoyed deviled eggs, cheddar biscuits, trout, sole, a cheeseburger and steak tartar. There were other choices on the menu that need to be tried next time. The settling is like a big barn. We were served by two delightful people. One of the best features is a $10 corkage fee - perfect in the wine country. We were told that the corkage money goes the charity. Great experience!

This year we've celebrated both our birthdays at Farmstead. This restaurant is a very special place and well deserved for its positive reviews. We've dined here multiple times over the years and have never been disappointed overall, even when there are small glitches. Their food quality and service makes up for any of the minor discrepances. You need to make advance reservations since it's so much in demand. This evening, when we arrived the host told us we just needed to wait a few minutes until a table was ready outside. Nowadays, everyone wants to sit outside still due to covid worries. I'm sure that contributed to the delay understandably. We of course did get seated, but our host tried to put us at a shared table and next to the service station. We politely asked to be reseated at a table my wife saw open. They immediately seated us there once the table was ready. The rest of the evening went smoothly with service and food quality. I must say that the menu items are mostly if not all grown from their "farm" and you can clearly taste the quality difference. Everything tastes so fresh and feels healthier. For example, both my wife and I ordered salads; I had the carmelized beet salad covered with fresh greens and goat cheese. I had this the last time and it's so good. I think it was better this time than before. The beets are fresh from their farm as well and you can taste and see the difference. My wife's salad was salad of garden greens w/ crumbled cheese and strawberries; also delicious. You must also order their cheddar biscuits on the side. They are so good and it was a repeat order for us. For the main entrees, I ordered their California Arborio Rice w/ farm egg on top (extra charge), w/ basil pistou, mushrooms. Again, it was so fresh. The egg yolk color was so vibrant! My wife had the brick cooked half chicken (again a repeat order), along with some broccolini on the side. At the end, they presented us with a nice little birthday sorbet. As if that wasn't enough, we took home some of their mac and cheese w/ vella cheddar sauce. You've got to go and experience Farmstead. It's worth the price of admission if you love truly farm grown food outside among their vine rows of grapes, apples, etc.

The food was great and the servicers were very attenuative, helpful and efficient. It that were the only criteria I would rate this place and excellent. Unfortunately, the loud obnoxious music ruined the evening. The speaker was right over our table and it felt as if we were in a dance hall. We asked if the could turn it down, but were told they could not. Restaurants not understanding that the noise level is an important part of the dining experience risk alienating diners. Because of the music I would never recommend this place or ever return, regardless of the other fine aspects of the meal.

We came here for Sunday brunch with another couple, and we were all disappointed by our dishes. Among our selections, the beet salad and deviled eggs were the best. The other items were disappointing: cheddar biscuits were somewhat doughy and dry, flavorless crab rolls served with barely warm fries, and the biscuits with “life everlasting” sausage gravy dish was meh and the diner was told that the included egg could only be served sunny side up. Given the high prices — $42 for each crab roll — we expected better quality and versatility from the kitchen. The service and outside dining were pleasant but not enough to make up for the surprisingly bland food. Hopefully our meal quality was atypical, and future diners will have a better experience.

I just ordered a take-out fried chicken dinner here. The cost was over $50 (for one dinner). Three thighs and a leg, all swimming in grease and uncooked in the middle. Gravy slopped over the potatoes and broccolini…tasteless. The cookie was good, a good thing because it was dinner tonight. Here’s the thing. You cannot charge these prices for this poor quality of food and expect people to come back. We’re trying to keep you in business, but quality just keeps going down. I am tempted to stop payment on this order through my credit card.

We recently went here with a party of 6. The waiter opened our wine be brought and we ordered some biscuits, he then disappeared for 20 minutes and we had not even taken our order. We spoke to the manager on duty which seemed to have an attitude but did get our waiter to come back, we never did get the original order of biscuits and our food once arrived was simply not very good. The waiter service during our dinner was not good. Once we departed I spoke to the manager again about the overall service being unacceptable. He really did nit care about my comments and had an attitude. We will not be back with this kind of service.

This is my go to spot for excellence in fresh California farm to table cuisine. Their beet salad is extraordinary. Dinners are fairly pricey but not extremely expensive. The fish plates have been consistently plus good. The BBQ plates and steaks etc very very good as well. A great deal is grown in their own gardens and meats are locally raised in the right way. All really great food overall. Service always knowledgeable and friendly but not obtrusive. I'd say the prices are well worth it. Btw fried chicken dinner on Tuesday night if you are into that. My family and friends love this place. I always take them there. Indoor and outside seating available depending on the weather is very comfortable. Love this place. Why not 5 stars? I had a crab roll once that was disappointing. My own fault for ordering out of season. Overpriced and should not have been on the menu. Otherwise the chef staff and service are brilliant.

The staff including the manager were not very customer oriented. Had a reservation for dinner at 7 pm. On arrival we’re told that the table will not be ready for another 30 min. We were offered to sit outside in the cold. On asking how many people were in front of us, didn’t get any answer. The place including the staff does not have good customer relationship. No sensible person should ever visit this restaurant unless you think you are a privileged person. Will be glad to speak to the owner.

Thank you for your review, Sanjay. We regret to hear that you had to wait for your table beyond your reservation time. We try our best to estimate how long a table will dine for, especially during our busiest weekend periods. Thanks again for your feedback.

This was the BEST way to start a wine and food visit to the Napa Valley. Our group of 6 ladies made advance reservations to experience the Farmstead seasonal food and wine tasting. The tasting began with small bites featuring roasted pistachios, warm olives and little gen salad. We continued with 3 different pizzas and ended with brown butter shortbread cookies. The food was delicious, plentiful, served family style and paired with 5 different wines. This offering was located in the wine tasting venue adjacent to the restaurant. What a light and airy environment provided with outstanding service making it a completely wonderful experience.

Stopped for lunch between wine tastings on a Saturday afternoon. 45 min wait for inside seating, but we were immediately seated on the patio outside and they have the full menu available. The kale salad with pulled pork was really good but both the trout and pork chop were superb and decreed the best ever…

Pricey. Food was excellent. I could only order their own wines by the glass, but they were good, so I didn't really mind. $25.00 per glass which was a bit high for a wine I didn't recognize. My entire family enjoyed their meals, although neither my wife nor my daughter enjoyed their cocktails very much. They need to work on their bartender skills. The food service was very good, and all in all it was a happy experience. The prices are high, though, at $82.00 for a steak.

I’ll start by saying this is my second time participating in the Chefs Wine Pairing at LMR, and it was an absolute delight. Not only were we treated to the rich history of the winery by Ryan, but the food pairings truly elevated the entire wine experience. Each of the five estate wines was thoughtfully matched with delectable bites crafted by their talented in-house chef. The use of organic ingredients from their farm added a unique and flavorful touch to each pairing, creating a symphony of flavors that showcased how beautifully wines can be enhanced by well-chosen foods. It was an unforgettable experience that highlighted the art of wine and food harmony in a way that only Long Meadow Ranch could provide.

We made a reservation a while ago to bring our friends visiting from NY. We stayed at the Fairmont in Sonoma and drive 40 minutes to get there, ready to eat an amazing dinner. 3 of us don’t eat meat or shell fish and as we were about to order our meal were told that both fish dishes are out. I asked to speak to a manager and was told that I need to understand because they had a very busy day,,, they don’t get fish delivered on the weekend etc. got a second he didn’t apologize, or said that he understands our frustration and disappointment nor tried to keep us there so we had to leave and to look for another place that will accommodate us. They ruined our evening and expected us to be understanding. I am sorry but that is not a good customer service and care.

We dined here twice on a visit to St Helena - a light(ish) lunch and a dinner with friends. The service is warm, and the food pretty seriously good. What we felt was curious was the affection for BBQ alongside a more regular Californian menu, and the BBQ offerings were weaker than the other dishes we sampled. The pulled pork was in a vinegary sauce that was unremarkable and the meat's flavour was less impressive than I can manage at home. Our other dishes were far more enjoyable, and played more obviously to the region and its cuisine.
