I have been coming here for over 20 years! Hands down the best southwest breakfast and lunch in Sac! Don't forget to bring cash...no credit/debit cards accepted. Try the huevos rancheros!

I normally order the Cactus Special-- red sauce only as you can't get it anywhere else. I often take part of it home as its a good sized portion for me. But every once in a while-- their French toast ( walnut bread) is perfect thing. Not too sweet & the bread has so much flavor. Pancakes are lovely &... More

Rose and David run a great little southwest style breakfast and lunch place. Reminds me of a place in Las Cruces, NM. Very local, friendly, family run, casual place with great food. I have the beef burrito with half red and half green sauce because they are both so good! Huevos rancheros for breakfast is awesome!

Consistently great breakfast and lunch food. We know of many people, not from the neighborhood that will make the special trip to come here. Over the years we have tried every dish and were always satisfied, feeling good and content when leaving.

The menu is varied and anyone can find something to suite their tastes. Very small location so sometimes a wait is required.Tight parking.

You gotta have the tamale bowl with green sauce!!! This dish is addicting. I discovered this place about 10 years ago. Never disappointed. Run by Rose and her husband. Very nice people. Southwest cooking (slightly different than Mexican) at it's best. Several Sacramento rock-star chefs agree with me about the Chili Verde Tamale bowl.

All items on the written blackboard are impecably fresh, appetizing, well balanced, and with clean taste. they are delicious because they are prepared with a light touch of delicate home cooking. At Nopalitos, nothing is common. You WILL NOT encounter heaviness nor the rough combination of most standard commercial "California mexican ". Enjoy real true mexican cuisine!

In the area on business and saw this place pop up on TA as a highly rated restaurant. Tried the chile verde over rice and it was quite delicious. It was priced below $7 and was plenty filing. This place is worth its rating.

We and our friends have frequented this small but mighty cafe since the husband & wife team opened it years ago. We lived in the East Sac neighborhood at the time so it was only 5 minutes away. Even when we moved to South Land Park many years later we still mark this as one of our fave breakfast places!!... More

Stopped in this morning to try them out. Very good menu selection and the staff was very friendly (not always the norm around here). I ordered their Huevos Rancheros. It arrived fast and was delicious. They suggested mixing the ranchero and green sauce, very good combination! It's a small place with about six tables inside and a few outside along... More
