We have been loyal fans Nopalitos for over two decades. So, we were concerned when the original owners Rose and Dave announced their retirement in April 2022. However our breakfast this morning clearly demonstrated that the new owners are faithfully carrying out Rose and Dave's...original recipes. (This should be no surprise as the new chef/owner worked side by side with Dave for 27 years.) The food was excellent as always, served in a warm and inviting atmosphere. If you've not been to Nopalitos, go. If you haven't been in a while, go back. You'll be glad you did!More

Great service and the chorizo scramble and potatoes were to die for. Will be back. Feel of a neighborhood restaurant.

There is always a line, but it doesn’t matter because the food is so good. Have tried most things on the menu and not been disappointed. Friendly staff, patrons are laidback. A family place.

I loved this place, I don't think there is a dish that you can order that you would be displeased with. The owners are wonderful and the staff is always friendly.

Came to Sacramento for a visit and leaned on TripAdvisor, as I do, for dining ideas. This place had 39 reviews and all were 5. I was cautiously optimistic. Everyone was right. This place is truly outstanding. We had the Little Cactus Special and the...Chili Verde for breakfast. I can't find a single thing to say anything negative about. Everything was absolutely delicious and service was fantastic. Even their latte was phenomenal. Go here with no reservation as to quality, taste, or service.More

The delightful couple who own and operate Nopalitos have been doing this quite a while. It's the place in East Sac near Sac State that everyone is drawn to. No wonder, great Tex Mex!

Love Rose & Dave’s neighborhood place. Soooo good! I get the beef burrito smothered “half and half” cause both sauces are great. Why choose! Salad with chicken added and pumpkin seeds if you ask. Really good!

I've been going to this place for over 10 years and for a time worked nearby and had lunch there at least weekly. They are only open on weekdays, so plan accordingly. Breakfasts range from light and fluffy pancakes with a twinge of orange essence...to a wonderful concoction of scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese and corn. Both are favorites of mine along with a couple of substantial pieces of bacon and a coffee or latte. Lunches provide more exquisite dishes from juicy tinga chicken tostada, casa dias, and nachos, but the best dish is tamale in a bowl with chile verde - especially during the winter - it'll warm you right up. Food quality is always top notch and delicious. Service is impeccable. Food arrives quickly and is always fresh off the grill or out of the oven. Rose also bakes some of the best chocolate chip cookies I've ever had.More

Located in East Sac and family owned and operated, Nopalitos is the love of Dave & Rose for the rest of us. Tex-Mex and homey, open only for breakfast and lunch M-F. Those who loved the Bun Stop across from UCD Med Center in days...past will find that Dave & Rose have switched places here. };-) ❤️👍🏻More

This place is a little "hole in the wall" that I happened to see when driving by. I asked family about it whom with we were staying with and they said it was a good place. So glad we went! Very good breakfast with excellent...service. You order at the counter and they bring you your food. They DO NOT take credit cards....cash only. Food is served very quickly and has appropriate serving sizes. Check on line for hours before you go. They are only open during the work days and have limited hours.More

Get here before they close about 2:30 in the afternoon for great breakfasts and lunch. Start with their Mexican Hot Chocolate and enjoy very tasty breakfasts and lunches. Nice family has welcomed folks here for years in this East Sacramento neighborhood. Outside dining is available...and just remember to bring cash - no credit cards accepted.More
