This place is always crowded even with indoor and outdoor seating. You have to stand in line to place your order and then wait a bit for it to be made. People usually go there in groups. Lots of choices and combinations that you can order. In taste contests throughout California, it always comes out on top or right near... More

The ice cream at Gunther's is wonderful. Especially on a warm evening. The flavors are varied and all delicious. Not to sweet, but enough to satisfy a sweet tooth. They give generous scoops and free tastes. Take the family.

If you are looking for some good old fashion ice cream, tons of choices, too much sugar for your own good, this is the place. Expect a crowd, there always seem to be one so be patient. The selection is enormous, flavors galore. Although they offer sundaes, milk shakes, etc., I never seem to get beyond the ice cream, smooth,... More

Gunther's is a historic opportunity to enjoy a homemade style ice cream treat. Our family loves loading up in the car and making a special time together when we go and get some kind of favorite flavor.

That's what Gunther's Ice-cream is um-umm good. Nothing beats that homemade taste and. The atmosphere is nice its just an old-fashioned polar that takes you back to your childhood days. I am glad they are still around.

Always a great selection and they make the best ice cream in town. There's always a crowd outside the door, but it's worth the wait.

Gunther's has been around since the 40s. It's Sacramento's most famous ice cream stop. Great Ice Cream!!!!! (some like Vic's) Not at all fancy -- wooden bench/booths inside and sidewalk seating outside. Not a fancy setting, nor a fancy neighborhood. Can get littered because of the hundreds of folks who go each night. The line on a summer evening can... More

You'll find neighborhood families here enjoying the best hot fudge Sunday's around. Gunther's ice cream is really creamy and they have seasonal favorites, too. It's a traditional hang out of the Curtis Park neighborhood of Sacramento, with a warm, homey atmosphere. And great ice cream.

They have been in business in the Sacramento area for as long as I can remember. They have the best ice cream in town.
