Malabar was a neat find; walking distance from several hotel choices and excellent food; fun atmosphere; great service. Recommend you try it!

This restaurant is located right in the heart of a business hotel area just south of the Sacramento, CA airport. It is a really good place for happy hour and a good variety of fresh and delicious meals from seafood to steak to interesting specials. I have been here several times with colleagues and we always have a good time... More

Not only is this establishment cozy, clean, and, professional, but, the service is OFF THE CHAIN!! The food is excellent!! The variety is extensive! Again.... The service top notch. We are picky too. I suggest stopping in. The orange balsamic salad dressing is AMAZING!!! Their nightly specials are so good. I want to come back when the have the pork... More

It's the Wandering Yank here. I met a friend for lunch here, 3 years after the first time I'd been. It's modern, with a spacious and interesting decor. We each had a salad - she had a crab louie and I had a chicken caesar. Both were delicious, and quantities were such that neither of us finished. Service was very... More

I am mixed on this one. The service was awesome and the place was super clean. Some people in our group were happy with the food and some had the meatloaf. The meatloaf was disappointing.

There were 3 of us - Eggs Benedict (crab cake and traditional) and the Corned Beef Hash. We all enjoyed our meals. I appreciate the fruit cup that is a part of the meal - fresh berries. The service was good.

Eggs Benedict is a classic and a great choice! It's wonderful to hear that the fruit cup also added a little something extra to your meal. Hope we get to see you again soon! Stay well, Malabar American Cooking Team More

We visited here for Sunday brunch recently. Even though I'm not generally a crab cakes fan, I decided to be adventurous and try the crab cakes benedict. Should have stuck with the more traditional version. Cakes were too fishy and poached eggs somewhat overcooked. My wife opted for a dish which included corned beef "hash". It consisted of undercooked red... More

Brunch isn't complete without a little bubbly, right? That being said, your whole meal should've been superb. Therefore, it's rather shocking that you and your wife didn't find your dishes to your liking. As for the beef, that's not the high standard of quality that we strive for here, so your server would've been more than happy to see what... More

I waited 8 minutes for any server to come to the table, after I was seated. Than bread was delivered, and then a few more minutes before the waiter came to take my order. The ahi tuna appetizer was very good, with wasabi, and ginger and cucumber....a food sized portion. The mixed salad was ok, with a different dressing from... More

We're so sorry that the service you received was anything but the quick and attentive service we're used to providing. It's possible that we were having a busier night, and this can result in servers getting tied up at other tables. That being said, your food should always be superb. It's wonderful that the ahi was to your liking, but... More

Business travel places us at an adjacent hotel and this place is in a cluster of many different dining choices. It features pub grub as well as fine steak dining. Open kitchen format with table/booth seating as well as the large central bar. the seared ahi is our choice. Great draft beer selection.

When you've had a long day of traveling, there's nothing quite as satisfying as some good pub grub, right? Glad you found a good brew to pair well with your ahi tuna, Bark. Looking forward to having you back on your next trip through Sacramento! Safe travels, Malabar American Cooking Team More

Our go-to when staying at a park-sleep-fly hotel in the same parking lot. Salmon excellent, nice wine by the glass options. Would have rated higher if our waiter hadn't been so loud.

It's an honor to be your go-to spot for a bite when you're on the road here in Sacramento! We want all of our customers to leave happy and full, and it sounds like you did it right with some salmon and a nice glass of wine. Apologies if your server was a bit loud -- it can get quite... More
