It is truly an event, spending the evening watching and even participating in the food preparation. The dishes were all created using fresh produce, meats and spices in delightful combinations. Chef Kelly McCown has a delightful sense of humor and not only taught us much about ingredients and preparation but kept us laughing throughout the evening. We sat at the... More

We celebrated a milestone birthday here and were not disappointed. What an experience! Pricey, but worth every penny. We had the more expensive wine flight with our many courses…..and it was perfect. Everyone says to pace yourself and no second helpings until you are done…..The meal/show lasted 4 hours and you can get up and walk around, go into the... More

We have dined at The Kitchen 3 or 4 times now. Always for a very special occasion (you need one to spend this much). This time it was for a very important birthday. However, each time we have dined here, there has been a different Chef. Not sure why there is so much turnover? We always sit at the counter... More

The Kitchen puts on a wonderful show/meal. They work with you if you have any guests in your party that have food preferences/allergies, etc. Although it is expensive - you are in for a long evening of wonderful food that you do not typically eat or are offered out at a restaurant. It is pricey so you need to be... More

Kelly (executive chef) starts the night by saying this isn't like going to a Michelin starred restaurant where each course is one bite, and if you leave hungry, he hasn't done his job. The food is as good as any Michelin restaurant I've been to, but the ambiance is what sets it apart. If you want more food, just ask.... More

Yes, you will spend more at this place than anywhere else. But it is entertainment, amazing tastes, delicious wine options and so so much more. Arrive on time, and pass the security guard. Doors don't open till EXACTLY 6:30. You are invited to help yourself to the food in the freezer, the oysters in the frig, sample food as it... More

Forget going out to a movie. Forget dancing at a club. You won't need to schedule any additional entertainment for the evening if you are eating at The Kitchen in Sacramento. Hidden in plain view in a populated area of town is an invitation only, ultra hip dinner party which offers its guests a variety of locally sourced, farm to... More

"Do not finish all of your plate...take it easy and just relax.." the chef said. But did we listen... nooooo.... and to top that we all did the wine... More

Don't let the location of this one of a kind experience keep you from coming here. It is located in a non-descript building with no fanfare, but also know there are always two armed guards on the premises. Once inside, you are pleasantly overwhelmed by the beauty, aromas, and waiters par excellance. When 7 pm comes around, you are locked... More

...I'd give this place six stars. This place combines beautiful food, gourmet cuisine, and fantastic presentation with lots of personality and an overall first-class dining experience. The menu varies daily, and is largely dependent on what the chef buys from the local markets that very day. In my opinion, one of the best restaurants in all of California.
