We brought our friends from New York to the Rio City Cafe for lunch. Everyone enjoyed the drinks and food very much.

but, in summer, you do Not want to be outside at dinner time, TOO HOT, TOO SUNNY! Stay inside away from the windows or you'll cook. Food is Good, not very daring. A bit pricey.
Friends made reservations for our party of four on a Wednesday evening in July at 5:30 p.m. From out of town, we drove through heavy traffic, detours due to construction, and searched for parking near the restaurant, seeking easy access. We found a space across the street. However, the entrance to the restaurant is across railroad tracks and up an... More
The location of the Rio City Cafe can't be beat! It is located right on the Sacramento River. We sat on the patio and the weather was perfect. We tried the cheese bread which was incredible! We all ordered steaks which were delicious. My husband said it was one of his favorite meals on vacation. I can't wait to return.
We explored the restaurant with a friend, who'd heard it was good. All of three of us thought the food, service, atmosphere were excellent. My wife and I and another couple visited the Rio City Cafe for lunch on a Friday based on a recommendation from a friend. We had just spent the morning in the Railroad Museum (very much worth a visit as well) then did a 10 minute walk to the restaurant. If the weather is good (perfect for us) be sure... More
I took several out-of-town guests to dinner at Rio City Cafe, and they thoroughly enjoyed dinner on the patio overlooking the Sacramento River. It was a large group, and things were handled flawlessly. The staff was careful to ensure that the hot weather and sun were deflected so it was an enjoyable experience for everyone. Our waiter was very helpful... More
My wife and I decided to enjoy a nice lunch along the river in Old Sacramento on a very warm Saturday. We called for reservations and were seated right away at a nice table overlooking the Sacramento River. Our waitress Michelle was right there with a nice smile and our menus. She took our drink order and came back with... More
