Finding ourselves in mid-town Sacramento for an appointment, we decided to try a new place where we've never been before. It was noon, and the Red Rabbit wasn't too busy on a Tuesday so we decided to give it a go. There's a patio area out front on J Street, and our old haunt from twenty years ago, Harlow's, was... I read about this restaurant somewhere and it sounded somewhat unique so we finally got to try it out coming through here with Amgen Tour of CA. It was great. Everything, the service, the atmosphere, the food was so good. We had Tagli You're It, a pasta dish with sausage made from rabbit, pork and chicken in a basil sauce.... More

Relatively new, and very worth visiting. My wife and I had heard it was primarily a young person's place, but despite us being in our seventies, we greatly enjoyed it. We came a little after normal lunch time, and found only two other couples eating and chatting -- with no young people. Drinking was fun. My wife had Harvey Milk... More

My friend and I went to The Red Rabbit for lunch. It was my first visit. I was very impressed with the atmosphere. The menu was different and unusual. I am told it is forever changing and is different from the dinner menu. They use farm to fork vegetables, spices and entree items. They have a huge bar and a... More

Stopped in after work for happy hour and was pleasantly surprised. We sat outside on the covered, heated patio and the waitress was very attentive. Prices during HH were very reasonable but dinner items seemed a bit pricey after. Everything we ordered tasted pretty good and the menu had a nice range of items. They definitely seemed to know what... More

This is a "Young people's place". Very lively, nice in a way, but the noise level got to me after a while. I wished I had brought ear plugs. The duck breast was ok, but have had better. Good vegetables, but an ordinary brown sauce with duck is a mistake.

Three of us met around 7 on a Monday night. It was pleasantly busy and we sat at the bar. The bar is a big horseshoe bar and the atmosphere is casual. This restaurant won several categories in "best of Sacramento" and so I wanted to check it out. They were in the top 3 for best happy hour and... More

Went for happy hour on the deck on a slowish weeknight where we could include our dog. Loved the fun drink and food offerings. The server was well meaning but seemed to repeatedly screw up our drink orders but replaced them with a smile.

This place came recommended, and we tried it on a slow raining Sunday evening. The staff was a bit aloof and not as attentive as they could have but the food made up for it. We each had different meals, and everyone enjoyed their plate. I highly, highly recommend the shrimp tacos, its been 2 days since I was there,... More

Time your visit for after 6 pm. easy access seating, and local street parking. The area is well lighted, with a comfortable feeling walking to the restaurant. The menu selections are not your local fast food, yet you have a range of choices that do not insult your ability to be accommodated. The style of cooking is from someone who... More
