Okay so Sheraton Grand Sacra in Sacra is right! Came to town on day Chinese New Year January 25, 2020 start Year Of The Rat! Ah this is review number Maestro or Maestra a few notes on the piano if you please SEVEN of this Shanghai Delite! Came because a museum in the Old Town Sacra having Chinese New Year festivities that day! So the one person day before at hotel says we need have Chinese food it is Chinese New Year, okay to him say, Understood, Agreed!
After the festivities at museum in Old Town Sacra I ask one the other docents of is there Chinese restaurant in Old Town Sacra! They say call Shanghai Delite but, "However the stairs are very narrow!" There four us! The one lady recovering from recent of knee surgery! We look at entrance, he say, "Wow, TIGER, I see you right! No wonder you never come here the Saturdays you volunteer!" As saw the docent right, stairs very narrow! The other person from hotel, she gets down easily, he helps both us down! Very narrow indeed, no ADA compliant!
The food very greasy, very tough! I had better at other Chinese restaurants! It did come with the pot of tea! Forty four dollar twenty three cent with tax for four of us, I guess that right price! However, even he agreed, he sees why no disabled people are eating here! As say very greasy, very tough! Of course seeing no decent of China Town in capitol town Sacra, I just not surprised!
Ah yes! To any reading this, Gung Hay Faat Choy! May the Year Of The Rat be a more peaceful year! Please no more gun violence, no more of random shootings at different schools! Gung Hay Faat Choy!

We recently discovered an Awesome Chinese Dumpling and Noodle House in Old Sac. The place IMHO is better than Din Tai Fung for those folks who have been there. I-Shanghai Delight specializes in Shanghai-nese "Dim Sum" and what we love about them is their traditional Soup Dumplings (Xiao Long Bao, 小笼包), their traditional braised beef noodle soup (红烧牛肉面), and their Pan Fried Dumplings (生煎包). When comparing to Din Tai Fung in Shanghai or Taiwan, Din Tai Fung soup dumplings have thinner flour skins to wrap the dumplings and more cold dishes, however they do not have the pan fried dumplings nor the more traditional beef noodle soup. Overall, I actually like I-Shanghai Delight dumplings better than Din Tai Fung because the flour on the dumplings is fresh, chewier, and a little thicker (my preference), and also they carry the pan fried dumplings that Din Tai Fung does not have. Overall, I-Shanghai carries very nice crab dumplings, pork dumplings, shrimp dumplings, and the pan fried dumplings which are my favorite. Place is awesome, very clean, good service, and a nice ambiance. Definitely a hidden gem in the middle of Old Sacramento and we can't wait to go back. Finally, it reminded us of our travels to Shanghai and we had a very enjoyable meal at I-Shanghai Delight.
TIP/REMINDER: Basically the dumplings all have "soup inside" and is extremely hot when they first come out. So, be careful when eating the dumpling. I'd recommend taking a small nibble first to open up a small hole in the dumpling to let the hot air out. Then slowly eat it and/or drink the soup. It's acceptable to make a "sucking sound".

This place is located underground and, thus, easy to miss if you stroll the blocks of Old Sacramento along the river.
Once seated, you may look at the menu or at one of several screens that display a very big selection of dishes.
We were very happy with the Dim Sum as starters and then just tried our way through several dishes, which we shared in larger group, and everybody came out very happy and well fed.

This is a great soup dumpling joint and all the other dishes we tried were fantastic as well..
I-Shanghai Service: We were greeted and seated immediately on a Thursday night. Our server got our drink order and asked if we had any questions on the menu. We got our first order in and had to ask back for the menu because we wanted to try more dishes. The kitchen got the orders to the table quickly to make that easy for us.
I-Shanghai Cuisine: The soup pork dumplings were delicious and definitely on par with Din Tai Fung. The sweet and sour spare ribs were flavorful and were matched up perfectly with the braised green vegetable salted pork rice. The rice was rich in flavor by itself. However, our #1 was the Pan Fried Pork Bun. This pan friend Pork Bun had the tasty soup broth inside and was amazingly delectable. Beware as all dumplings come to the table hot (temperature) but that's because they're freshly made from the kitchn.
I-Shanghai Ambiance: As soon as you enter, you walk down a flight of stairs to contemporary decorated restaurant adorned with huge black and white murals of old town Sacramento. Grey bricks, dark wood and light wooden floors make for an attractive dining setting. There's plenty of space so your dining experience is intimate to your table.
I-Shanghai just became a must visit any time I'm in the Sacramento area. If you love Din Tai Fung and Shanghainese dishes I-Shanghai is a must visit for you. Enjoy! =)

Stopped here twice in July 2018 with our most recent visit on 7/28/18. The Shanghai dumplings are excellent. They are served hot (temperature) and the juice oozes out.
The fried dumplings are also good with a tasty soy sauce on the side.
The Shanghai noodles - meh.
The boiled chicken (I thought this might be similar to Hai Nan Ji Fan) was just OK. I was thinking it would be served with a green onion/ ginger/ garlic sauce but not really.
Kid had the seafood fried rice on both occasions.
The service in our first visit was not great or even good. Dishes were ordered but not delivered.
Service last night was better.
Overall, this is an OK restaurant but not the most spectacular Chinese food you will ever have. To point, it is likely one of the best restaurants in this touristy section of town.

I was really looking forward to Dim Sum and trying out this new place with my friend. It isn't the traditional cart dim sum I was hoping for but they have a menu and you check off what you want and they bring to you. We came on a Sunday and arrived right when they opened at 11:30 the space is nice and decor inviting.
The menu isn't very extensive and the one thing I did order and was looking forward to (lotus dish) I was told they were out of hmm they just opened, so that was disappointing. What we did order was very lack luster. Spring rolls were soggy and filling way too watery. The Shanghai noodles were not very flavorful. The pork dumplings were the best thing we ordered but the dipping sauce was not good at all so avoid that and your good. The hot tea they brought right away had a slight coffee flavor like the pot had previously been used for coffee so we asked for another pot of just hot water which was better. Later a waitress said they ran out of tea pots and she needed ours so they came and took it away, but they took the one we wanted but we were almost done so didn't bother asking for more. When the first dish arrived we asked for chopsticks since there was only one set on the table but they never brought any we ended up taking from another table. I thought the prices were high for the quality and quantity that we received. It was a disappointing visit and not worth the parking or traffic hassle.

It locates in the old town Sacramento. This place is easy to miss because it only have a small entrance leading you to basement where you will find surprisingly spacious in old town area. The foods are very authentic Chinese Shanghai food. We tried their stream pork dumping, braised beef noodle soup, pan-fried pork buns, and fried noodles. This is the place for good Chinese cuisine.
