We heard about their French dip. And their skillet cornbread. Others said their steaks and burgers are legend. We decided on the French dip, a side of skillet cornbread, and a Macho salad. I asked for a side broccolini. The order was ready within 15...minutes as promised. We were handed our order at our car in the parking lot. We drove off to find a scenic view to compliment our meal. The food was great! That French dip lived up to its reputation. Tender prime rib nestled between perfect bread. The cornbread was ridiculously addicting. I could not eat the macho salad until we were home though. Although I had asked for cutlery and napkins, we were not provided any. We had to cut the skillet cornbread with the sticks they used for the French dip. That did put a damper on the enjoyment of the meal. Next time, we will check before we drive off.More

I love everything about the Rutherford Grill. The cozy ambience of its dark wood interior with comfy red leather booth seating. The open kitchen. The wood-fire roasted chickens spinning round and round rotisserie-style over an open flame. An inviting bar area. I knew we had...a winner as soon as we walked in. The menu is not large yet offers several classics as well as some unique choices. We both settled on dishes that included the chicken: a BBQ Combo Plate and Macho Salad. Both prepared to perfection. Sierra provided spot-on service. Rutherford Grill would be our go-to if we lived in Napa. No wonder every local we asked for dining suggestions included it in their list of favorites.More

The service was efficient and friendly. I would categorize this as higher-end comfort food which is made from scratch and delicious. Not too fussy but nice enough for a casual date night.

Sitting in this establishment, looking across the street at the Inglenook estate, I realized that this restaurant is surrounded by some of the world’s greatest vineyards. The food is simple, filling and extremely well prepared. We started with their skillet cornbread, and it should not...be missed. I followed with the sausage platter, consisting of 2 excellent, housemade, and grilled wursts and a very juicy chicken thigh. All this was accompanied with s very creamy Cole slaw. My wife had the butter nut squash quesadilla, which had a delicious corn, avocado and tomato salad accompaniment. The service was friendly and thorough.More

I hadn't been to the Rutherford Grill for a couple of years. We were up valley picking up a wine shipment and stopped at Rutherford Grill. We got the French Dip sandwich, cucumber salad wild rice salad, the house salad and cornbread. Everything was so...flavorful and satisfying. I didn't remember how good it was. Never disappointed!!More

My wife likes it here. So we interrupted the motorcycle ride and enjoyed some bbq ribs and chicken. Tasty and tender, when you’re this blessed what do you have to complain about! ZD Chardonnay one my wife likes was fine. I had an old fashion...I’d rate 7 of 10. Good service and surroundings. Clean bathroom too😀 before and after view of ribs!More

The restaurant came highly recommended by locals, and we were told you had to get the Spinach and Artichoke dip. We did order it, along with the skillet cornbread, and both were excellent. I got the bbq grilled salmon, and I’m not kidding when I...say it was maybe the best grilled salmon I’ve ever had. Delicious and perfectly cooked. My wife got the cheddar cheese butternut squash enchilada, which she loved. Both of us had the cucumber salad...which was spectacular w goat cheese, jalapeño slices and other veggies. We had their homemade Key Lime pie for dessert. Amazing. Love this place!More

We were here just last week, but the French Dip was calling. They had a Shrimp Cocktail Special, and it was perfect. 5 huge prawns and a great cocktail sauce (had to add 2 scoops of horse radish). The French Dip, as usual, was fabulous....The bread is made right there and is excellent, and they use Prime Rib cut of beef...piled high. My wife had their Cucumber Salad, which she really likes. We will come again, and without a doubt, i will again order the French Dip Sandwich.More

Our trip was cut short by wildfires and power outages, but not before we enjoyed a great meal at this place. Interesting menu that lived up to expectations, gracious service, welcoming and quiet ambiance. Location is convenient as well.

We showed up Saturday evening without a reservation, and although they were booked we had really thoughtful staff make our evening great! Kelly from the outside bar secured us seating at the inside bar so we could order our favorite meal; prime rib French dip...and roasted artichokes!!! Ashley, who was our server inside, also made our evening great with attentive service! Thank you Kelly and Ashley for making our last minute birthday celebration (delayed since the August fires) happen! We all pray you are safe during this Glass Complex Fire!!More
