A busy place for a Monday, but I think they were short staffed for the volume. Usually the service is excellent, but today it was not only slow, but the wait person wasn't very service oriented. Had to ask for the coffee, had to flag him down to get a refill, had to flag him down for the bill all... More

Drove down a narrow covered lane to a large parking lot in the rear. Walked down another lane to the entrance. Seated promptly at a nice quiet large table for two toward the rear of the restaurant. Everything indeed was on the extensive menu and the attentive waitress explained the specials for the evening. Service was perfect and ordinarily we... More

This is a gem of the peninsula . The food and the service is 5+ stars. Their seafood is always fresh and exciting . And the turf is always cooked to perfection. The desert so exciting as well, if you're fortunate enough they may have their special cheesecake .

We were looking for someplace nice to try mid-peninsula. We found a gem Food: Our table of three all enjoyed the appetizers and our entrees. Ambiance: Very classy place. Perfect for a high-end date or power lunch. The clientele was on the more mature side, as one would expect given the location. Service: Professional and unobtrusive. Helpful and light when... More

Went for dinner on a Saturday evening and the food was delicious. Had the Watermelon with Avocado salad which was great. For entree, had the Hanger Steak which was cooked perfectly and came in a great sauce. Service was excellent. Only complaint was the noise level. It was extremely loud so you couldn't even talk with your tablemates. Noise level... More

This place never disappoints. The food is always outstanding! They take everything to the next level without getting off track. For example, I recently had the double pork chops. The meat was cooked perfectly to order, tender and juicy. The bonus was a wonderful crust that accented it. All their menu items seem to be wonderful. The atmosphere is sedate... More

Have been enjoying John Bentley's for many years, going back well into the days during which the restaurant occupied the old Woodside fire house. The menu has changed slightly, and the specials are always a delight. One thing that has changed though is that the wine list has really gone up in price. I searched high and wide for bottles... We started our dinner with one of the most magnificent appetizers that I've had: a salad, described as a Napoleon, that had a good amount of fresh Dungeness crab, grilled watermelon (the grilling makes it even sweeter) and avocado with a delicious, light dressing. This is a TO DIE FOR starter, if you love crab.

Restaurant greeted us warmly as we arrived for a long anticipated dinner with friends; their menu is enticing - choosing among great sounding dishes required thought, Result: Both service and food were excellent

I've had almost every entree on the menu, and they were all excellent. Every waiter I've had there provided great service. The atmosphere is relaxed yet classy. The building looks good too.
