went to this place with such high hopes and got totally disappointed. They have tons of variety sandwiches listed in the menu, it feels like a real sandwich spot. I ordered their marinated chicken sandwich, it was the most average sandwich I have ever eaten,...specially at a place that just sells sandwiches. Chicken wasn’t really marinated, it had some stale small pieces of lettuce, sandwich taste was - below average. Person taking my order, was quite disinterested and rushing me while I ordered. I also ordered a coffee, I shouldn’t have, expensive coffee with no taste, worse than instant coffee. They are selling sandwiches and they didn’t provide any sauces or had any sauce on the counter. They didn’t have any spoons, fork, knives too. I had to make several trips to the counter to request these items. They had inside seating, open seating and outside seating. Interior was cool and funky, I gave 2 stars only for that. Parking is available on street. I wouldn’t come back here!More

It's been a while since I ordered a sandwich from The Sandwich Spot, but I do remember that their food was very good. So, I ordered a number 22 (pastrami on rye) and I wasn't disappointed. The rye bread was very fresh and the sandwich...was loaded with plenty of pastrami, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese and 1000 Island Dressing. It was a very good lunch.More

What a place! Very fresh ingredients, incredible selection of creatively prepared sandwiches and of course you can build your own. Came there again next day (was in the area for two days). Was definitely a highlight of my otherwise not very eventful trip. Highly recommend.
Here on business from the middle east , passed by the Spot, it was a surprise. Sandwich beers and hookahs ! That has to go in the Guinness book, i really suggest that. What a place! Love this place. My favorite is the Wednesday special tri-tip sandwich. I get that every month when I'm in town. It's obviously not a fancy place, but a super-friendly staff, great food, and a nice beer selection make it a great choice when you really...just need a good sandwich. They also have hookah, which I haven't tried, but it seems to be pretty popular.More
It is not a big deal at the "sandwich spot" people make a deal about the sandwiches here but what makes it good is only the ingredients. You could get this at any sandwich place such as Subway or Quiznos. This place is typical, not...a big deal. Safeway makes really good hot sandwiches with melted cheese!More
Okay, how exciting a lunch can a sandwich be you ask? Very! We decided to have a "Sunday Fun Day" here in Redwood City downtown, and were seeking a healthy lunch. Found this cute little place here on Travel Advisor. They made me a custom...sandwich exactly as I requested, and were so friendly and helpful. The sandwich itself was so wonderful - nice hot roll, filled with healthy yummy fillings - a generous portion. Conrad had a big hot sandwich with meat and cheese, he said it was really good too. The place is cute, they have a nice patio outside. I recommend giving this cute local place a try, you'll enjoy it. Oh, and the price was a great bargain given the high quality!More
My 11 year old son chose the place. They have interesting names for the sandwiches and the description helped. Same with the guy who took our order. My husband and I opted for the combo (sandwich, chips and soda) while my son chose a plain...turkey sandwich. And they were all good and so filling! I chose no. 12 , the name of which I cannot remember and this was really good, I recommend it. You order and pay at the counter and choose a table inside or al fresco. We were there 12:30,by 1pm the line was so long. We knew why this is a popular place. Try it when you are in Redwood City and you have a craving for sandwiches.More
Having just flown into SFO and on way south, found many lunch spots closing at 2pm. Luckily found this open and enjoyable clean shop with vegetarian options as well. Good price and combos available.
Had the Manwich sandwich which I thought would be loaded with meat but it wasn't. Tasted good, but I was expecting the sandwich and meat portions to be a lot more. This place is always busy at nights especially with the hookah in the summer...time. I thought it would be really good because it was so busy all the time. I'd come back, but I don't think it's better than Ike's which is 2 blocks away.More
My sandwich was delicious! I had the #5 - chicken, bacon, avocado, cheese, etc. although there were 50+ choices! The bread was very fresh! I also loved the environment! The patio and outdoor space is very cool. I would eat here again for a casual...sandwich anytime.More
