If you want top quality sushi, this is the place to go. It is not inexpensive, but you get what you pay for. The tempura is delicious, too, and it's worth it to try both the shrimp and vegetable tempura. We usually go at lunchtime, and it can get crowded on Fridays.

It is a very nice restaurant, feels like going to Japan with the koi pond and bamboo bridge at the entrance. The interior is Japanese style and feels very roomy. The food is fresh and wow, the servings are huge! Good for two meals. The salad was zesty with ginger and very nice. The beef and chicken teriyaki are good... More

The salad with ginger dressing, while different in terms of what we were used to in terms of ginger flavor, was amazing! The sushi was very fresh - nigiri was exceptional. The roll choices are limited and we ordered one which came out very large in size. It was very tasty however. Service was prompt. Value was great. I would... More

I really wanted to like this place and thought it was really really good hand rolls sushi .....then went back the other night and I thought the sushi was just a step above what you would get at Safeway . Although much cheaper . I might try it a second time . I staff is nice .....just maybe .....

They stayed open late for us!! We got there just as they were closing and let us in and let us take food to go.

Delicious. Ate here with some friends, got the giant boat of stuff plus a few other things. Service wasn't fantastic and a few orders were mildly messed up. Definitely fun seeing the sushi chef showing off his giant hunting bow too.

This place is great! The sushi is wonderful! I am not from this area but I drove past this restaurant and saw lots of people going in and the parking lot was full. I was very happy that I turned around and came to Bonsai! I would go back again!

Being a foodie I am always looking for the best sushi place...and after having tried the trendiest, the most expensive one (Fuki Sushi), the hundreds of sushi bars sprouting along El Camino Real and beyond, well, after 12 years of experiment only ONE place has made it to the very top and stayed there with total consistence: Bonsai. I even... More

The atmosphere and the food is fantastic. I used to live out here, and I hated sushi... until I tried it here. Now I can't get enough of it. Haven't found a better place anywhere. Samurai roll and white tuna rolls are the best!
