Disappointing, I had expectations that it would be a lovely evening. However, the meals our family were not well prepared. Additionally, the service was not attentive, and indicated that she would be happier somewhere else. I thought if the meals were prepared well I could...accept the service. Unfortunately, our party agreed, the artichoke appetizers and apple dumpling were nice, but none of the entree's were enjoyable. This was supposed to be a special ocassion, but it all honesty, the breakfast I enjoyed the next was so much better. I would not recommend.More

I have been to this restaurant twice. Both times it was awful. I wanted to give them a second chance but the second time was worse than the first. I will list what I have found. 1. The prices on the online menu are not...the same as the menu you get at the table. 2. They use a swamp cooler and when it's hot even the inside dining room is uncomfortable. A few fans would help, but no fans. 3. There are flies in the dining room and we spend our entire meal swatting them away. They don't have a fly swatter and again, fans would have helped. It ruined our dinner since we had to spend our time protecting the food from the flies. 4. We ordered green beans and almonds. We got green beans and corn. They don't always serve what they say they will. 5. I ordered the lamb and there were live bugs on the food. Like knats. When I asked for a new plate of food they tried to talk me into just keeping the dinner with the bugs. 6. My son ordered the filet mignon, most expensive steak they serve. He asked for it medium and it was so raw he couldn't eat it but didn't want to wait the other half hr. if would take for them to replace it. Their service is very slow. He took it home for his dogs. 7. You have to flag them down to get spoons for the side dishes. They do not put spoons on the table. That was a 10 min wait. The food was then cold. 8. You have to flag them down for salt and pepper. They do not put it on the table and the food was bland enough that you'll need it. We went there today, 6-19-21 for an early Father's Day dinner since they are closed on Sundays. We were there a month ago. At that time I had been in an accident and needed to sit down due to sustaining broken ribs 2 weeks before that. When I asked if I could sit in the front near the door until they started serving dinner at 4 p.m. I was told to stand out on the sidewalk and wait. If my adult kids weren't already on their way I would have left. Needless to say, we will never be going back there. For the price you pay when you have a party of 5 (350.00 +) you would expect a lot better. Never again.More

We stopped here for lunch on our way to Palm Springs. It was a nice lunch, however the service was a little slow and my Chile Relleno was good however it could have been hotter temperature-wise.

Even though we live in the area, we had never been to Caprice Cafe. We were happy to find a place to eat for our anniversary where we could sit down. Since they don't take reservations, we had a 30 minute wait for a table....We didn't feel that we were welcomed by the staff and weren't sure who was waiting on us after we were seated. The menu is diverse, and I chose a Greek Salad with salmon which was attractively plated and French onion soup. I thought that the soup was good but pricey at $10 a bowl. My husband got a spinach pasta dish with grilled salmon which he said was fishy. I asked the waitress if they gave a treat for our anniversary which they didn't. All in all, it was a very average dining experience and felt like it was highly over-rated for the huge prices for lunch. We expected a little more, since most of their reviews were 5 stars.More

Whether dining on the patio or having food delivered, you can count on flavorful food and the best service. In this case, we dined outside under the very effective heaters. I can’t wait until the place opens fully and we get to enjoy the live...music on Mondays.More

My wife and I met with her son and daughter In-law for a late lunch. It’s an upscale cafe with unique combinations of foods.we split the Salmon sandwich which was scrumptious and yet very delicate. The cheese spread was exquisite and delicious, but not overwhelming.our...waiter was friendly, gave terrific advice and was spot on with her recommendations.More

Caprice changed its pick up policy and did not post it on their webpage. If you want food after 5:30 p.m. Thursday - Saturday try another restaurant.

My friend and I sat in the shady patio which had a pleasant breeze next to our Teddy Bears which support social distancing as there were just the two of us at the table. Our salads were fresh, full of great textures and taste: Quinoa...Salad and the Blue Cheese Salad. Afterwards we had coffee also perfect for us, not too bitter, just right. The waiter and service staff were timely, pleasant and respectful of Covid19 procedures. It was a pure joy to have this meal and to socialize with my friend in this comfortable setting. Caprice's brilliant patio design protects dinners from the heat, a very critical kindness because the summers in Redlands can be intensely hot. The day we dined it was probably 90 plus degrees. My kudos to the chefs and the staff.More

The patio is great with the teddybears enforcing social distancing. It's one of the nicest venues in Redlands. Service was Covid-19 respectful and fine. Some of the food had issues. My friend and I started with crab cakes, which seemed to have more mayo than...crab, and a prosciutto crostini with shaved Parmigiano which I would have liked toasted a bit to bring out the flavors. My friend had the pork chop, lightly breaded and it was delicious (she shared a bite). I had the prosciutto-wrapped stuffed chicken breast over various grains--the grains/veg were great but the huge chicken breast was just undercooked. I ate the ends which was plenty, but undercooked chicken is, well, no bueno. For desert we both had the Jeffersonian tart and for crunch and chocolate this can't be beat. Overall it was great to get out and that Caprice was practicing safety, but the kitchen had some issues.More

My husband and I stumbled upon this fine restaurant after an appointment at the VA Loma Linda. We are particular when it comes to 'reviewing' something to recommend to others, but I have to tell you it was one of the finest meals I have...had in some time at any price. I could site what we had and go on and on, but the most important thing I want to say is PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE support this gem through this Coronavirus self-quarantine time. They need your help through this difficult time for so many--they will do take out as well. Service was excellent, patio was perfection....cannot say enough about how impressed we were. We live in Indian Wells, and next time we pass through on the 10 freeway, we'll make sure to pop by and have another wonderful meal. Please support them by ordering take out from them during this tough time for all. LOVE this place!!!More

Always delicious food and great service, but now with live music on Monday evenings. What could be nicer? I tried the balsamic asparagus side and greatly enjoyed the taste. The pasta is always great.

A birthday celebration that lived up to expectations! The service was great-subtle and non-intrusive. Every item was thoughtfully prepared and delicious. Halibut special with purées parsnip, artichokes, and leeks. The braised short ribs were tender and flavorful. The slow cooked pork belly appetizer is not...to be missed!More

I’ve enjoyed Caprice for years, but it comes up with more delightful surprises! Live music on Mondays. Caprice is not only open on Monday evening, it also now has live music. Very nice touch! Second, if you sit at the bar looking into the kitchen,...you get to watch a group of cooks who seem to enjoy what they do. They work fast, but smile and joke with each other. That was fun! The foods was wonderful, as it always is. Delicious. The servers were pleasant and attentive. This is a great place it eat and enjoy!More
