Whether dining on the patio or having food delivered, you can count on flavorful food and the best service. In this case, we dined outside under the very effective heaters. I can’t wait until the place opens fully and we get to enjoy the live music on Mondays.

My wife and I met with her son and daughter In-law for a late lunch. It’s an upscale cafe with unique combinations of foods.we split the Salmon sandwich which was scrumptious and yet very delicate. The cheese spread was exquisite and delicious, but not overwhelming.our waiter was friendly, gave terrific advice and was spot on with her recommendations.

A birthday celebration that lived up to expectations! The service was great-subtle and non-intrusive. Every item was thoughtfully prepared and delicious. Halibut special with purées parsnip, artichokes, and leeks. The braised short ribs were tender and flavorful. The slow cooked pork belly appetizer is not to be missed!

Even though we live in the area, we had never been to Caprice Cafe. We were happy to find a place to eat for our anniversary where we could sit down. Since they don't take reservations, we had a 30 minute wait for a table. We didn't feel that we were welcomed by the staff and weren't sure who was waiting on us after we were seated. The menu is diverse, and I chose a Greek Salad with salmon which was attractively plated and French onion soup. I thought that the soup was good but pricey at $10 a bowl. My husband got a spinach pasta dish with grilled salmon which he said was fishy. I asked the waitress if they gave a treat for our anniversary which they didn't. All in all, it was a very average dining experience and felt like it was highly over-rated for the huge prices for lunch. We expected a little more, since most of their reviews were 5 stars.

My friend and I sat in the shady patio which had a pleasant breeze next to our Teddy Bears which support social distancing as there were just the two of us at the table. Our salads were fresh, full of great textures and taste: Quinoa Salad and the Blue Cheese Salad. Afterwards we had coffee also perfect for us, not too bitter, just right. The waiter and service staff were timely, pleasant and respectful of Covid19 procedures. It was a pure joy to have this meal and to socialize with my friend in this comfortable setting. Caprice's brilliant patio design protects dinners from the heat, a very critical kindness because the summers in Redlands can be intensely hot. The day we dined it was probably 90 plus degrees. My kudos to the chefs and the staff.

We went when the weather was getting cold and it actually sleeted during the storm. We were still able to sit outside, under the heaters and enjoy a wonderful dinner. I told the server, who'd worked there since she was 18, the types of food that I liked and she brought out a perfect pasta dish that I ate on for 5 meals! So good!

I made a reservation two days in advance for Caprice Cafe on Opentable for 4 at 6pm. Our party arrived on time. As we were waiting inside to be seated, we could see that the restaurant was not full, which was surprising to me for a Saturday night. However, they seated us outside. It was 97 degrees. I asked if there was a table inside, but the hostess said all of the tables were taken. When we were waiting to be seated, we could see (among other open tables) that there was an open table for four in view of the hostess stand. There was no reason to seat us outside. The only other people of color at the restaurant were also seated outside. We were sweating! Needless to say, we left the restaurant and went to Copehouse, where we had a great dining experience. The seemingly discriminatory actions of their staff are unacceptable.

Disappointing, I had expectations that it would be a lovely evening. However, the meals our family were not well prepared. Additionally, the service was not attentive, and indicated that she would be happier somewhere else. I thought if the meals were prepared well I could accept the service. Unfortunately, our party agreed, the artichoke appetizers and apple dumpling were nice, but none of the entree's were enjoyable. This was supposed to be a special ocassion, but it all honesty, the breakfast I enjoyed the next was so much better. I would not recommend.

The food was absolutely delicious and wonderful. I had a Wagyu Burger which was perfectly cooked and garnished and a new experience for this foodie. The restaurant was cozy and the staff was friendly and attentive. I can't recommend this place enough!

Always delicious food and great service, but now with live music on Monday evenings. What could be nicer? I tried the balsamic asparagus side and greatly enjoyed the taste. The pasta is always great.

I went here with a large group from a work function. The people were extremely nice. And they handled the group pretty well. I loved the pork belly app. I had the beef rib for dinner. It was good not great. It was a little tougher than ideal but still good. It’s a nice place on a nice street. Very enjoyable.

Great illusion of fine dining restaurant. Food was excellent which means that there must have been a pro in the kitchen. Server was polite but obviously did not know the menu.

Because of its high rating on TripAdvisor, we decided to try this spot and we were happy we did! First of all, it was a super cool location - in the adorable “downtown” of Redlands, located in an interesting old timey “mall” with several vendors sharing the same space - but Caprice Cafe is on the corner and has both outdoor and indoor seating. We sat inside (such a warm day!) and it was comfortable and inviting. We both ordered the roasted beet salad but my dining partner added chicken - and we both loved the dish. Lovely flavors, beets were divine - and not overdressed. Yummy bread service and we also ordered the scrumptious olives to start. I highly recommend the pomegranate cosmo - yum! Our server was helpful and patiently answered my questions. A great stop if you’re passing through Redlands and want an option other than a chain.

I have been to this restaurant twice. Both times it was awful. I wanted to give them a second chance but the second time was worse than the first. I will list what I have found. 1. The prices on the online menu are not the same as the menu you get at the table. 2. They use a swamp cooler and when it's hot even the inside dining room is uncomfortable. A few fans would help, but no fans. 3. There are flies in the dining room and we spend our entire meal swatting them away. They don't have a fly swatter and again, fans would have helped. It ruined our dinner since we had to spend our time protecting the food from the flies. 4. We ordered green beans and almonds. We got green beans and corn. They don't always serve what they say they will. 5. I ordered the lamb and there were live bugs on the food. Like knats. When I asked for a new plate of food they tried to talk me into just keeping the dinner with the bugs. 6. My son ordered the filet mignon, most expensive steak they serve. He asked for it medium and it was so raw he couldn't eat it but didn't want to wait the other half hr. if would take for them to replace it. Their service is very slow. He took it home for his dogs. 7. You have to flag them down to get spoons for the side dishes. They do not put spoons on the table. That was a 10 min wait. The food was then cold. 8. You have to flag them down for salt and pepper. They do not put it on the table and the food was bland enough that you'll need it. We went there today, 6-19-21 for an early Father's Day dinner since they are closed on Sundays. We were there a month ago. At that time I had been in an accident and needed to sit down due to sustaining broken ribs 2 weeks before that. When I asked if I could sit in the front near the door until they started serving dinner at 4 p.m. I was told to stand out on the sidewalk and wait. If my adult kids weren't already on their way I would have left. Needless to say, we will never be going back there. For the price you pay when you have a party of 5 (350.00 +) you would expect a lot better. Never again.
