I have eaten at Jack's since I was a small child. So it has a happy nastalgia for me. Good steak, prawns, & potatoes. Salad was a bit too wet & it is way to loud for my older years.

Steaks are excellent. I go for the filet myself. Also have the fries, they'really house cut. Get the French dressing on your salad, it has a dash of horseradish! Now, having said all that, the place isn't much for atmosphere. Dark, dated to the 60's. The kind of place you'd expect to see Perry Mason & Della Street walk out... More

For some strange reason Jack's is almost a local legend. The salad is iceberg with canned French cut string beans. Who does that? The bathrooms are dingy and cramped. The decor is so old that you couldn't give it away. The drinks were strong and the steak was just ok. Service wasn't even special. Prices were outrageous. Try Market Street... More

Decent meal downtown. Suggested by coworkers as one of the staples in town. It was a nice place, clean but dark. Service was great, never had to ask for anything. Meat was cooked as requested, and was good.

This restaurants is a fixture of Shasta county and I have been going there for the best steaks for over 30 years. People come from all over the state when they are in town to have dinner in a run down old building with the same decor to either sit at the bar for a drink or wait up to... More

There were five of us for dinner on Saturday night. We did have a 1-1/2 hour wait, but we had seats at the bar and the drinks were very good, so it wasn't a problem!

I had a new York steak that was well seasoned and cooked perfectly. The salad and side potato was also well prepared.

Iconic and historical, but the food is nothing to brag about. Friendly service, but a long wait for a table. The place is a glorified bar and they make their profits by plying you with drink whilst you wait for a table. Atmosphere is dark, seedy, and cramped.

Far and away the best steaks in Redding; however, that comes at a price. Expect to pay $40 for a ten ounce filet. The dining area is small and in the same room as the bar. Wait times can be extensive, especially on the weekends. There are nicer restaurants in Redding, but if you're in the mood for a really... More
