Greeted quickly upon entry. Waiter was polite young man. Returned promptly with ice water. I ordered the spicy fried rice. Asked how spicy a and was given two choices, mild or spicy. Spicy is my thing. The food came a bit slowly, but it was very hot and in a large proportion. The chef is used to a normal American... More

Drunken noodle was awesome. It is the best Thai food that I ever had on that USA trip. Unfortunately I did not take any picture of dishes we ordered. The daily soup is great too ! The restaurant is clean and nicely decorate. Nipa and her family is real friendly and very kind. After we had our meal, they served... More

Actually had to get up and leave restaurant! Never got my drinks my party ordered , when food came thought maybe drinks would soon follow! They never did , nor did silverware! Waited and waited for waitress or someone to come so we could eat! Place was not busy , yet no one came. After 15 minutes of waiting to... More

Traveling outside of Thailand we sometimes crave some Thai food. This was the case when we found Nipa's in Redding. We had tried one but found it difficult to even call it Thai food. Ah but Nipa's proved to be good Thai food. The taste was authentic and they even had Thai tea which rounds out a Thai eating experience.... More

The birds were all outside for the night when we were there but they were 'talking' a bit. The service was excellent and the different noodle dishes were very good.

Been here a couple of times before, and thought I would try the Hawaiian Fried Rice (not very Thai I know). Shrimp fried rice served in a pineapple. Sounds OK. So I get my meal, and the fried rice was average, problem was it is not served in pineapple, The waitress gave me my meal and told me they don't... More

I was looking for something other than the usual burger joint/fried chicken/taco place for dinner and came across this place. The exterior is unassuming, (other than the macaws in the parking lot) while the interior is quite grand with chandeliers and a large altar. I had the summer rolls which were terrific - HUGE, the size of burritos, and a... More

Enjoyed the drunk noodles but I don't like seeing birds in cages. I had a coconut based soup too which was excellent.

The food was a bit bland and my rice dish was over cooked and to muusgy. Plenty of food for the price. The bird cages outside were worth the stop.

Nipa's was recommended to me by an associate, and although I am not a huge fan of Thai food, generally, my traveling companion is. Happily, Nipa's exceeded my expectations, and I really enjoyed my lunch (drunken noodles). My friend had a noodle salad and announced that it was delicious. We split the spring rolls. I am primarily a vegetarian, so... More
