Chose to come here for our 35th anniversary and was glad that we did! All three criteria were met (food, ambiance & service) and made for a special evening. We started out with a pomegranate martini and Crown Royale. For dinner we had: calamari for...an appetizer, shared a house salad and garlic mashed potatoes to have with rib eye stake and Australian wage filet mignon. Everything was cooked to perfection! Our waitress, Kimberly, was very attentive, yet left us alone to enjoy the evening together. We sat in the wine cellar which was more quiet than the main restaurant. While it was a little pricy, it was perfect for a special occasion and we may come again soon to repeat the experience!More

Great food, lousy service

My sister made reservations there on Sunday, Feb. 5, to celebrate her birthday, hearing it was a great restaurant. On being seated, we were asked what we wanted to drink, and drink orders were given. I asked for water all around. 15 min. later, we...received our drinks, no water. I asked again. 20 min. later we finally received our water. We insisted to place orders then, as we feared it would take forever to get our food. Sure enough, 40 min. later , we received our dinners, mostly sandwiches (easy!), except for one sister. Again, we waited, 10 min., being polite, we didn't eat until she was served (she wanted a sandwich.). No apologies were ever given. My salmon dinner was wonderful, but I will never go back there again. The place seems very disorganized.More

So Not Worth It

Hanna’s was recommended to us, but did not live up to it’s reputation. This was my first visit. We had a reservation for a boot and arrived right on time. As it was early, they were not busy. The bar was busy though. It took...about 12 minutes for the hostess to seat us among several unoccupied booths. Tables around us were almost empty too. Due to a shift change it took a while for our menus to arrive and our drinks to be ordered. Bad start. The wines and mixed drink were good. We waited a bit, but we finally ordered our meals. They took a very long time to arrive. A table next to us that had been occupied after us and ordered after us, got their food promptly. We did not and all our meals arrived lukewarm at best. What a disappointment. I ordered one of their pricey steaks and it was not sizzling or very warm. It was not tasty. We elected not to complain. Probably a mistake on our part. This is not an inexpensive restaurant. Food should arrive faster and piping hot, not to mention tasty. Our waitress obviously waited way too long to serve our food and she was not busy. Hanna’s was such a disappointment, I can’t even clearly state it here. We won’t be going back, for sure.More

Best experience in OC

No words to describe what Chef Von is able to create with his hands and his crew in the kitchen. We had the honor to speak with him and to discover his passion for the concept of fusion, for the different cultures with different flavors,...for the daily markets where to find the best items for the menu...this is what my wife and me love to hear from a Chef, because they have not only to feed us, they must make us live the best of the experiences ever! And Mr Von in OC means this! Last time we got the Brussels sprouts with Burrata, the braised ribs and, omg, the New Zealand wagyu.......no words to describe the feeling! Perfect Cabernet from Napa and a Don Julio margarita just to start... This was an Experience, this is what we love to do together to enjoy life! Thanks...thanks also to Penelope who took care of us! She is awesome and our dinner was perfect even thanks to her!More

Great food and service - high price

Excellent food and service. Wine is very expensive but very good. Wine price range is $35 to $700. I chose a Syrah for $50 and it was excellent The house salad was yum! Usual greens with a touch of fruit for sweetness - give it...a try. My salmon was perfectly cooked. Steaks are also perfect - about $50 to $70 Hannas is not your every day restaurant , but if you take a guest for a special evening you should be confident of a great result. The restaurant was not noisy - this was good. We could all talk at a normal level while we enjoyed our meal.More

Best steak on the planet earth

THE BEST RSM HAS TO OFFER

This restaurant is as close to 5 Star as you can find in RSM. Good food and good service. A nice place for a special occasion.

Overpriced

Staff very friendly as they slip an upsell past you - "would you like a baked potato with that?" Neglected to tell us there was an extra charge for it. For $60 my rib eye was not as tender nor as marbled as it should...have been. Her filet had a mealy, dry texture with a cardboard taste. Overpriced for the quality of the food and a bit too noisy for the price point of the establishment.More

Consistently Excellent

I visit Hanna's on a regular basis and I'm always happy with the food, drinks and service. It is busy most nights and the bar stools fill up quickly. The bar stools are very close together so you can't be afraid to get close to...your neighbor. Bartenders are excellent and love their regulars. Get the Prime Steak Tacos, they are incredible.More

Great relaxing after movie dinner

Look no further than Hannah's Restaurant if you want to dine at the best restaurant in Rancho Santa Margarita. The service is top notch and the daily specials are hand crafted and mouth watering. This is the absolute "go to" spot for dinner in town.

Hanna’s in RSM

Hanna’s is a must visit restaurant. Outstanding food, incredible service and great ambiance! We had tasty appetizers & our entrees were delicious too. The entire staff is very friendly & welcoming! Very nice steak house

We were there for a meeting in the back room. We had not heard of this restaurant before. The bar was crowded on a Wednesday evening and we had to sit in the outside couches to wait and have a glass of wine. Extensive wine...menu by the glass. The food was excellent. We had the steak. We will be back.More

Hanna’s again!!

Hanna’s never disappoints!! Food was fantastic as usual!! The staff is always on their game, friendly and helpful. By far the best restaurant in Rancho Santa Margarita!! For us who live here, it’s wonderful to have such a great restaurant!!!

Great lunch!

Hanna’s is a wonderful surprise in the suburbs. World-class restaurant accessible nearby. Great food. Outstanding service. Wonderful atmosphere. Always a pleasure to dive there.

Everything was perfect!

My husband and I went last night for our 30th wedding anniversary. We live near this restaurant but had only been once before since it is a bit pricey. We asked for a quiet table and received one. The food was excellent. I had the...fish and my husband had steak. The service was fantastic and they gave us a free dessert for our anniversary. It was packed for a Wednesday night which says a great deal! Yes, it is expensive and we can't afford to come all the time, but for a special occasion, it was perfect. We will be back for the next birthday or other occasion!More

Is there a dress code ?

I don't think there is an actual dress code, but were I a man I would wear a button down shirt, short or long sleeve doesn't matter. I have seen men in jeans and t shirts but it's a lovely restaurant, so dress up a bit!!
