Few of this chain remain. They were a favorite hangout in my college days, and still have that flavor. Simple decor, great do-it-yourself burger, pool tables, etc. a good stop for an informal meal.

First time to visit this diner. Very pleasant, efficient waitress. Many choices for eating including a burger topped with barbecued pork or if you are really daring, a pb and j burger with bacon. I'm going to let someone report on that one! Nothing special on decor, but they do have a game room and a pool table. Overall, a good place to have a family meal in a relaxed atmosphere.

My son-in-law introduced me to Boll Weevil restaurant. There were five of us in our group; we went for dinner on a Saturday night. This is a local, hometown type of restaurant. It is not a chain, and it has a homey, old-fashioned, welcoming feel.
Don't pass up this restaurant. It is a hidden gem.
The food was delicious. The service great, and so were the prices.
I had a burger, onion rings, slaw and soda.

While our waitress (nice young gal) was chatting with our table and answering our questions, the manager rudely barked at her across the restaurant asking her if she was milking the clock. There were no other customers in the place. ....The manager was either having a bad night or is a jerk, Have had this waitress before and she is always pleasant and provides good service. Why the manager would speak to her that way was disturbing. Gave her a big tip and not sure we will ever go back there.

Good food and great service is what you can expect when going to Boll Weevil. We've been coming here since high school and it's still a family favorite.

Have gone there twice and enjoyed it both times. Service was fast and friendly. The parking lot is always full. This restaurant has been here a long time and we had to check it out after moving back to Ramona. The food is reasonable priced. I couldn't believe the size of the hamburgers. You won't go away hungry.

Our family comes to Boll Weevil whenever we can. Husband always gets a craft beer and burger. I get a super lean burger with cheese and no bun. Kids get kids meals. Service is always always good. Those waiters work hard.
Frings are really skimpy and not worth the money. Better off to get a basket of each. But the sauce is the best. Yes. I'd buy a gallon of the stuff if I could.

Boll Weevils were one of my favorite hangouts in my college days. Most have disappeared since. This one in Ramona is a rare survivor. Why? It isn't fancy or quiet. Their burgers are traditional Boll weevil - good, big, not fantastic. It is a hangout place. Tables can be set for small or large groups. Pool tables are a flash back. Flat screes play news or sports. Service has always been good. And this location has a variety of special meals or events every week. Did I mention it is a good hangout place?

Good deal on a good burger. It's a chain restaurant so it's a pretty standard burger. The service in Ramona is "down-home good!" That's what makes it great instead of just good. :)

Admittedly I love a good burger, but this Boll Weevil is so much more than that.
They have a pretty wide variety of menu selections they could satisfy most anybody's cravings. Yes the hamburgers are fantastic, and I don't care what anybody says these are the best burgers in Ramona!
One of the things that really sets Boll Weevil apart from other restaurants is the service and the people. Great bunch of employees who really want to be sure you get what you paid for and are comfortable.

We are visiting family in Ramona from Williams AZ. They took us here for late lunch. The server Rhonda was very good and the burgers big and great. The kids love the game machines and there is a nice atmosphere. Definitely will return

Came up to Ramona from San Diego for a spot of wine tasting in this up and coming wine region and stopped here for a late lunch. Very friendly service, good food (the pastrami sandwich is very tasty, as are the sweet potato chips) served with a minimum of fuss. The atmosphere was also more authentic than you would find in a real tourist area and the food was good value for money.

I grew up at this franchise and there are only a handful left in San Diego. The burgers and buns are fresh and generous and you get a tray at your table so you can do your own condiments, etc. They have big schooners of beer and the BEST ice cream homemade shakes/malts!!!

This is also a fun place to eat. You will always see someone you know. We like the way you can put on your burger what you want from the tray. A ways out of town, but worth the drive.
