When we go for a regular visit to Pismo Beach, we make it a point to try new places, but it works out that we always go back to the Cracked Crab to bask in its atmosphere of warmth and friendship that seems to make...More

After having an In N Out burger earlier, we needed a light dinner. We had the house salad (which is topped with blue crab) and gumbo. Delicious and perfect amount. Live this restaurant! Service was great!

We have traveled from Florida just so we can visit Pismo Beach and eat seafood at this little gem of a restaurant. The food was savory and fresh. Our server Dani was so nice and gave great suggestions. If you’re in Pismo Beach area you...More

1st time trying this restaurant but would have no problem going back again. My husband and I started with steamed mussels which were very good. We then shared the Cioppino for 2 which was a lot of food. I would not order it again because...More

We came here based on great reviews and the food was just ok. We had Abalone which was expensive, but small overcooked and tasteless. Best part was the beautiful shell. My soft-shell crab sandwich was big, but fried and overcooked. My wife's crab salad was...More

The reviews don't lie....this is probably the best clam chowder we have ever had. Staff was very friendly and the vibe is comfortable.

Went there on a recommendation and found it to be as good as they said. Ashlee Hillier runs a fine restaurant with a great crew. The food was well prepared and served hot. The quality and service were as good if not better than we...More

At this friendly place, you aren’t paying for an ocean view, you are paying for fresh crab! We had the shrimp and the Bairdi crab, perfectly accompanied with a bottle of the Peacock chardonnay. Even the corn was delicious..

What a fun place! You dinner is literally dumped on the table and then you get busy shelling and eating some wonderful shell fish along with corn on the cob and potatoes. A bit messy but so worth it.

For late night dining and crab is on your mind, then I say try The Cracked Crab at least one time and you decide. Friendly staff and seaside murals on the wall to captivate you while you guzzle down your beer waiting for your order...More

On a holiday weekend last year we had a 2 hour wait. But last weekend (on a Friday) we had virtually no wait at all coming in at 6:30 or so. We were surprised, but very happy based on our prior experiences and expectations.

You can see their entire menue online. Some things are pricey, like the clam bake, but other things are within average. It's one of my favorite places to eat. It's really a special place.

Our Mission To provide excellent food and service to all of our guest in a clean, comfortable, casual AND FUN atmosphere. Serving the finest seafood available, in a most casual style.™ The Details of Our Philosophy Although we serve fine food in a nice atmosphere, please dress casual should you choose us for lunch or dinner. Our concept is largely based on dumping a bucket of various shellfish on your table with a mallet, crab crackers, and other tools to get the job done. It can get messy, but hey, we clean it up! We feature "in season" product, printing our menu daily based on what's available. We serve several local fresh fish daily, and use local farmers for fresh in season produce all year round. We use a local butcher and a local baker. We always have a steak for those of you who don't eat fish, a chicken dinner for those of you who don't eat fish, and we can sauté a vegetable dish for those of you who don't eat fish, meat, or chicken. We have been open since May 1999.
