Wasn’t impressed. No view, the room is stuffy. Seems over priced and the service was very slow. I don’t recommend it, seems like a tourist trap.

What a great place to eat! They have one of the largest varieties of FRESH crab I have seen at a Restaurant. Service by Cody was great. We ordered one of the buckets with kings, snows, and shrimp. Corn and sausage were also in the...mix along with potatoes. All very good. Did not try mussels. Berry cobbler also very tasty. Highly recommend. Price very fair for the service and quality of dining experience.More

Decent seafood a bit overpriced. The buckets are a neat thing to do and get to sample the Dungeness crab. It’s a nice atmosphere the fresh berry cobbler was amazing!

Stopped in for lunch on a whim and pleasantly surprised. Finally found a seafood restaurant at the beach that served freshly made flavorful food that didn't taste like a Mickey D's fish fillet surprise. Wine list was good and a definite plus. Ambience is casual...and the staff worked hard to keep it spotless for the customers. Our server Daniel was congenial and informed about the menu items when we asked. This place is a keeper and will return.More

We had dinner here after a long wait. The crab was very expensive and overpriced. It was very stringy and hard to eat. I have never had crab this bad before. The fish and chips were OK and the clam chowder was good. Once we...got our food the wait staff ignored us. Find somewhere else to eat crab.More

Called in without booking and we were welcomed and seated by a lovely host. The food was simply the best and the service top drawer to match . Can’t recommend the fish and the shrimp tacos enough and the warm sour dough bread to share...was off the charts good . Would go back again and again.More

We stumbled upon the cracked crab walking through town it looked it was super busy but I asked how long the wait was and we were able to be seated immediately. The menu has a variety of seafood and some non seafood options. The seafood...bucket immediately caught my eye unfortunately my family didn’t want to share. We had the calm chowder and gumbo to start with both were delicious. We ordered the lobster Mac and cheese, fish and chips, Yucatán shrimp tacos and crab sandwich all were tasty and generous portions. Our server was great he suggested a blood orange beer that I would have never ordered but I am glad I tried it.More

I do not want to write bad reviews because I enjoy writing good reviews, but I feel obligated to warn fellow food lovers about this place. It is way too expensive for the amount and quality of food you get. I spent over $135 and...tipped them 20% for the take out, yet when I got home, I saw that the mussels were tiny and the fish and chips had three very small soggy pieces of fish with a bunch of fries. The crab was way smaller than 2 pounds like the guy said and they forgot my mashed potatoes and green beens that came with the meal. I called back and told them they I didn't get my sides, and rather than being apologetic for their mistake (whether it's accidental or deliberate I cannot confirm), the manager was being difficult asking me for the receipt number, which I did not have as I lost the receipt while carrying the food. I did order a lot and there were many little packages including condiments and such so they may have forgot accidentally, but the manager should have made a better effort for his customers. He could have asked his employees or look at the recent receipts to confirm that I had ordered the crab meal, not a la carte. It's the employee's mistake initially though not the manager's. Oddest part of this experience was that the guy who took my order (dark haired guy with a beard I'm assuming because he helped me and told me what's in each bag when I came to pick up the food) said his name was Jamie on the phone. The manager said his name was Jamie as well, however, he 'did not take any to go orders today'. Maybe there are two Jamies there. My husband did not want to go back just for beans and potatoes and he appreciated their efforts so I didn't push it. But after this disappointing experience, I will neither go back nor will I recommend this restaurant to anyone. It's overly expensive for average food and poor customer service at best. If you're going northbound (or southbound) on the 101 to the Monterey and Moss Landing areas and you're craving seafood, try Phil's Fish Market. It's excellent (esp the crab and fish and chips), and you'll pay half as much at most.More

We enjoyed it so much - we were back the next day for more. Had the bucket of 3 choices - crab x 3 or clams mussels or wild shrimp. Upgraded to the king crab - which was well worth it the first day. Second...day tried the clams and mussels first - the sauce these are cooked in are just wonderful - so do try. Then went onto the bucket of crab - Dungeness and snow. I cannot recommend this place high enough for a long enjoyable crab and seafood lunch.More

My husband was desperate to find somewhere that offered fresh crab so when we saw the sign for Cracked Crab on the freeway on our way to Pismo Beach we decided to give it a go. We were warmly welcomed by the staff on arrival...and provided with a menu with so many delicious options. I love it when you look at a menu and can't decide because you want everything on there! Always a good sign! My husband had the crab roll and I went for the shrimp po boy sandwich. Both dishes were delicious! The crab roll was spilling over with fresh crab which my husband said was just what he'd been hoping for. My shrimp po boy was lovely - fat juicy shrimp with salad on a soft roll and a side of crispy fries! What more could you want in a lunch! The restaurant was really busy with lots of people ordering the buckets of crab which looked huge! Service was great and the staff were so friendly. I would definitely recommend going there if in the nearby area. It had a nice feel to it.More

The mussels with a white wine cream sauce was the best thing we ate here. Thanks to our server for recommending it! We also ordered the bucket with crab, sausage, potatoes, corn & added lobster, which was smaller in portion than anticipated even though it...said enough for two. Seemed more like a dry rub seasoning considering the lack of sauce and dryness of the sausage & potatoes. However, the mussels really made an impression. Would definitely come back just for that dish! The service was also extremely friendly & fast which is always a plus.More

What makes this restaurant different is they take the ordinary, like mussels, and explode the succulent flavor with a white wine cream sauce...worth stopping for anytime in Pismo Beach. Oh, and the Crab Louis is enhanced with a eye pleasing selection of fresh lettuce and...vegetable and crab...however, this time is was not dungeness since that season had not started yet.More

Cracked Crab is just our idea of a perfect place to eat when on a beach vacation and looking for fresh seafood. We ate here twice because it was so good. The crab in every form we ate it, from right out of the shell...to crab cakes were excellent. Funny thing to mention but the hot sourdough rolls with whipped butter were what brought us back. We specifically asked about them and they were fresh made in Atascadero at Brian's Bakery. Unfortunately, this is a wholesale only bakery, but they apparently sell these rolls at local and chain grocery stores. This is such a fun restaurant and the waitstaff is just the melted butter on top of the terrific seafood menu.More

You can see their entire menue online. Some things are pricey, like the clam bake, but other things are within average. It's one of my favorite places to eat. It's really a special place.
