We come to Pismo several times a year and always eat at a local Italian place. However, it had to close due to a fire so we decided to try Rosa's. The food here was fantastic. Everyone's meals were great, the fresh baked bread was awesome and the service was phenomenal. It was so great we came here two nights... More

We got a table right away but we were early. Didn't expect such crowds in late October. On the main drag in Pismo Beach. The service was good and professional. The food just so so. I ordered chicken piccata. It bore no resemblance to any chicken or veal piccata I have ever had. Except for the capers it could have... More

This appeared to be a very nice, reputable Italian Restaurant. We didn't know it was so close until our last evening.

Normal Italian food faire. Wait staff seemed stretched and were constantly on the run. Their menu could use some innovation to make it more interesting.

They have a good selection on the menu. The service was great. Well informed of the selections. I had the tortellini.....loved it. We were in Chester for a 2 week business trip. I was just informed I will go back in a month. This place is definitely on my hit list.

What a lovely restaurant, made to feel welcome, table was not immediately available so had a pleasant drink at the bar while waiting. Great service, menu was really great, lovely artichoke dishes available and seafood pasta was amazing. Would recommend this as a stop.

Classic case of getting the wrong waitress at the wrong time. Our waitress actually forgot to tell us that there were 'specials' . She was unattentive and miserable. Yet guests near to us clearly had a more professional waiter, on which we all commented. The food, one seafood pasta contained over cooked fish, this dish was knocked off the bill,... More

Every year when we attend the Jubilee by the Sea we try to visit Rosas. They have never disappointed and sure didn't this year. There were 8 of us and everyone really enjoyed their meals. I had the Linguine Alle Vongole (Linguine with baby clams and white sauce) it was fabulous. I have never had so many clams both chopped... More

Description
Rosa's Italian Restaurant in Pismo Beach, CA culminates 50 years of restaurant experience in regional Italian cuisine to create a family operated dining destination by the sea. The combination of Chef Doug MacMillan's Northern Italian cuisine apprenticeship with the Southern Italian family recipes he learned from his mother, Rosa, produces multiple award winning entrees with the freshest and finest quality ingredients. Classic and specialty Italian dishes such as Tortellini Con Quattro Formagio, Veal Piccata, and Pasta California will excite your taste buds and keep you returning time and time again. Our history begins with Rosa, whose journey to the Central Valley of California started in Avellino, Italy, located between Naples and the Mediterranean Sea. After moving to America and marrying Bill MacMillan, the two opened up their first restaurant in 1966. In 1988 when they moved the restaurant to Pismo Beach is when their son, Chef Doug, took over the kitchen. We are customer service oriented, and each of our dishes are made with the same care as if you were in our kitchen at home. In addition to a full menu for dine in a takeout, we offer a full bar with cocktails, beer, and an extensive wine list available to order by the glass and bottle. Our Happy Hour is Sunday through Thursday nights from 4PM - 6PM where we offer $2 off wells, cocktails, and drafts. Our professional staff is ready to welcome you. Come join us for fine Italian dining in a relaxed atmosphere and let us show you the tastes of Italy.
