I arrived in Pismo on a cool overcast day...stopped in for hot soup...yummy hot lentil soup that included lots of delicious spices. We came back for dinner the next day with 2 friends. For my dinner, I had Lamb Kabobs, which were absolutely delicious and...included rice, vegetables, and a wonderful yogurt sauce. The lamb melted in your mouth. Our group couldn't pass up dessert, so I had homemade baklava and ice cream. It was perfect and not as sweet as the Greek version of baklava. Two people in our group have difficulty hearing, so we all appreciated the quiet atmosphere. Great choice for lunch or dinner.More

Pros: Excellent menu. Tasty food. Sizable portions. Very good value. Friendly service. Cons: Aside from the main dining room, Oasis has seen better days. Long stretches between courses. Star Ratings: - Overall: 4 - Food Taste: 5 - Food Portions: 5 - Location: 5 -...Ambiance: 3 - Menu: 5 - Service: 4 - Price: 5 - Value: 5 - Parking: 5 Three couples wanted to get together for dinner on a Wednesday evening and try a new place. One person suggested Oasis since she heard good reviews from friends. Although the drive from Nipomo to the northern part of Pismo Beach and back took 25 minutes each way, it was worth it. - Location: Central. Oasis is on Price Street at the end closest to Shell Beach. It’s got easy access from highway 101 in both directions and was not a problem to find. - Ambiance: More functional than fancy. We were warmly greeted by one of the owners while her husband held down duties in the kitchen. Oasis has lots of room…maybe more than they need. Our table for 6 was in the main dining area which was clean and spacious, but gave the impression of a restaurant with limited finances. That’s not a criticism. Most restaurants have trouble surviving one year. Oasis has been in that location for 4. The unusually large waiting area by the entrance and along the side facing Price Street means it’s normally more busy than our evening or it’s just excess space. Two refrigerated food displays were empty. Plus there’s a large outdoor patio with a nice view of the Pacific which would be great on a warmer night. - Menu: Outstanding, especially if you favor Mediterranean food. Lots of interesting choices for appetizers, salads, main courses and desserts from countries bordering that region. And…many alternatives for vegetarians and vegans. - Food Quality: Very good. Our table shared the Vegetarian Sampler with Baba Ganouj, 2 Dolmas, Hummus, Carrots, Feta, Kalamata Olives and Berber Bread for $22. We debated whether to get 1 or 2 appetizers and chose one. The food was fine, but the size was most appropriate for 2, 3 or 4 people. My wife and I both had one of the Oasis “specialties” which came with a cup of Lentil Soup (I could have had a quart) and Berber bread (a bit tough for my liking, but maybe authentic). She had the Chicken Kabob with 2 skewers of chicken, vegetables, rice and garlic yogurt sauce for $32. I had Chicken Eggplant with a charbroiled breast, grilled eggplant, sautéed tomatoes, olive oil and feta cheese for $33. Both plates were brimming with good looking, smelling and tasting food. We liked it all, though my wife said her vegetables were a bit salty. - Food Portions: Substantial. Everyone got their money’s worth. - Service: Interesting. As I mentioned, we were served by one member of the husband and wife team. She was very friendly, informative and helpful…but it took a long time for the food. We arrived at 6 PM, ordered at 625 PM, got the Sampler Plate at 7 PM, Lentil Soup part of the main dish at 715 PM and the rest at 730 PM. Plus…there was only one other table of diners during that period. Yes, I know, the meals are done from scratch and we’re probably typical California consumers, but even the patient among us got a little antsy. Perhaps the reason was there were just 2 people running Oasis (husband and wife) that evening. - Wait for a Table: None, but we made reservations to be sure. - Price and Value: Excellent. Aside from waiting for food, everything about our meal was worth a return visit. - Parking: Plentiful. There’s parking along Price Street…diagonally in the middle of Price Street and on the side street (Oasis is on a corner). After adjusting our expectations for the pace of our meal, the many options of the menu left to sample are just one reason we’ll return to Oasis.More

We were in Pismo Beach for two nights. We ate at Oasis the first night and it was wonderful. So good, in fact, that we went back again the second night, ordered different things and it was wonderful again. The food is very reasonably priced,...especially given the quality. I can’t recommend it highly enough.More

Rather expensive for what you get. Lovely couple owns and cooks (or so i think) so i wish I could write a better review. I had the beef potato tagine , which was tasty but more like a soup or thin stew then a tagine....And lots of potatoes but not a lot of meat. My wife had the chicken kabob, which she said was fine, but nothing special compared to what we would get from our local restaurant, for quite a lower price. The lentil/garbanzo soup that comes with the meal was actually the best part of the meal. so overall, the food was ok, but the prices were way to high for what you getMore

Thoroughly enjoyed our evening here. The food was absolutely delicious. Everything was so fresh and freshly made. The chef is Moroccan and his wife the server. Together they provide amazing food with great service. Bring your own wine with no corkage fee. Will definitely go...back when we visit pismo again.More

I suspect a hidden gem The food was better than what I had in Morocco The waitress was great, fast and very friendly service. I believe her Mother in law, Mother of the chef, is Moroccan If we had been in the area longer we...probably would have gone back They let me know when I made my reservation that they do not service alcohol but have a license, that I could bring my own and there would no corkage feeMore

We did a fairly large order for take out. It was all very tasty but the portion sizes were fairly small for the price we paid. Fresh and excellent flavor just a bit pricey.More

This restaurant is cozy, the staff is friendly, and the food is incredible. We found it by the website, and it does it no real justice. I went with friends and we shared, which was a great way to share a lot of food. We...had the Oasis Sampler to start, and I shared the Tagine D'Atlas and cucumber salad for my main. We also had the Baklava, and don't miss the Turkish Coffee and Moroccan Tea - both were delicious! It was SO reasonably prices for what we ate. If I'm ever in Pismo again, I am FOR SURE going back.More

Fantastic Moroccan food with very friendly staff. Hidden gem. We went with low expectations but we were very pleasantly surprised at the food taste and quality. We had the Moroccan spear mint tea, the pear salad and the Vegetarian Tagine. For dessert we had the...vegan dessert called Selou. This was enough food for 2 people who were not very hungry :-) will definitely go back when ever we are in Pismo next. They had several vegetarian options.More

Last year we tried catering, and it was great. This year we were in the pleasant restaurant in Pismo, and it was really great! Large space, with a view to the ocean and big outdoor area as well. All 8 of us ordered different things,...and they were all delicious. Started with lentil soup - perfect. They don't serve alcohol, but you can bring your own bottle of wine. Convenient. Great chef. Very friendly service. Overall just a super experience.More

My husband and I had an incredible dinner here and highly recommend this restaurant. I had the Lamb an Pruneau and he had the Osso Bucco beef dish. Don’t let the name of the dishes or the fact that it is a Moroccan restaurant scare...you away. We both commented after the first bite, “wow! this is delicious!” The meal also came with lentil soup which was also outstanding. The husband does the cooking, wife serving food. Very nice atmosphere, large portions, reasonable prices. If we lived in the area we would be eating here on a referral basis.More

This place serves amazing Moroccan dishes. We were looking for vegan options. The restaurant is not all vegan but there a few vegan items on the menu. We tried the Couscous Royale as an entree, Spicy Vegan Rarghifat, and Falafel Fingers with Hummus. The portions...are HUGE so although the price is high, each dish on the menu can be eaten by 2 people, easy. Plus the entree comes with a bowl of lentil soup and bread. We were 2 people and ordered an entree and 2 appetizers. We could not eat them all and brought a lot of it home. We could easily eat our leftovers for another meal. We also order the Moroccan tea. A must if you want to experience another culture. The tea is hot sweet mint tea but it is unlike any mint tea I have tried. It is hard to describe it but another reviewer in Yelp said it is like the taste of Wrigley Mint Gum. lol This is a compliment and not a critique. I thought the reviewer was funny but it is right on. It is a good tasting sweet mint tea that is served in a beautiful pot and small glass. I like it and finished it. The taste of the mint tea compliments the dishes served. The food is all delicious and unique. It was one of the best meals I had and it is unlike others. The restaurant is huge and was decorated nicely in Moroccan way. The music was really nice Moroccan music. We really enjoyed it. The location is close to the beach. If the weather is nice to sit in the patio, I recommend the patio seating. There is a bit of ocean can be seen from the patio or the inside booth near the patio. It is easy to find this restaurant due to the bright blue trims all over which is hard to miss. To find the entrance to the restaurant from the parking lot(a private parking lot) was not easy. Because the entrance is on the street side and is not obvious when we parked in the lot. It seems that a sign at the parking lot to direct to the entrance would be great.More
