A friend told me about Los Potrillos, so on my next visit to Petaluma, I tried it out!
It is hidden in the parking lot of a CVS pharmacy.
The thing that initially impressed me was that most of their diners were Hispanic!
They know...their cuisine!
The "counter man" is an absolute sweetheart! He makes good suggestions and is friendly.
You order at the counter, and food delivery is prompt.
While low on decor, the place is clean.
More importantly, the food is good!More
I have been visiting Petaluma for several years now and searched for the perfect place to have wonderful Mexican Food and this is the place!! Great, friendly service, nice atmosphere, very clean. The chips and salsa (red and Guacamole) are outstanding!! I am always in...search of a great Chili Relleno and I found it here. Fried perfectly and filled with wonderful white cheese, which is my favorite. I have had good and bad Ranchero Sauce across the nation and always get it "on the side" until I see if it is good or not. The Ranchero Sauce here is unique in comparison to other places and so, so delicious with the Chili Relleno. The traditional refried beans and rice were tasty as and were a great accompaniment. I also got a side order of their delicious Guacamole because it is so good. The prices are great, the portions are generous, but most importantly, the food is fantastic!! No more searching for the perfect place to eat in Petaluma, this is one of them.More
The only thing I get here is the super quesadilla suiza al pastor. They stuff it with all the ingredients of a burrito minus the rice and beans. It's a little on the greasy side, but sometimes thats what I want.
My hubby and I have been going to this mexican restaurant for burritos & tacos for years. The food is flavorful and spicy ( how we like it ) and the staff is pleasant. the ambiance & decor is average, tasteful, but nothing special -...thats why we go for take -out! The prices are affordable and the burritos are large as are the tacos. we order the grilled chicken super burrito and they are filled with spicy chicken, & enough avocado - not all rice & beans like some places. We love the carne asade tacos too - plenty of onions , cilatro and of course beef! we also like that they are open late ( until 10 )on most days.More
