I too am one of the many who have been going to Volpi's for years. Their food is always very good, servers are personable and efficient (especially Ginger!) and the place is overall welcoming. There was a place like this when I was a kid growing up in Minneapolis that was our family's go-to place. Volpi's is the reincarnation of it. Go there, eat great food and feel the love.

A great historic place with plenty of charm, mementos, a "back room" checkered tablecloths but now something is missing so I'm told. We had a reservation and were seated right away but then waited quite a while for any kind of service. We started with some fried calamari which most seemed to like but to me the coating was so thick and dry it was no to my taste. They no longer have the salad served family style and that may be a sign of the times so we ordered entrees which were delivered in good time and most were good except for the gnocchi which were anything but "light and airy"! We tried to get the servers attention to order another bottle of wine but eventually had to get the bus boy to get it for us. The prices are good and as I said most of the food was good. The place holds lots of memories for the locals so I hope it gets back to what it was once we rid ourselves of this pandemic which seems to have impacted this and many other places.

It's the real deal. It's not poofy California designer Italian food, and it's not some hoity-toity chef of the year Italian food. It's where Italians come to eat. My 100% Italian wife grew up not too far from Petaluma in Crockett. A virtual nest of first and second generation Italians, and this is one of their favorite places to eat (as they say) "the real stuff". A side note, my Grandfather threw back a few drinks in this place during prohibition.

This is an interesting old location, very eclectic, very popular. The food is good, but the service on the evening I was there was slow, although friendly. Parking was hard to find, but that would be expected in a very busy area like this on a Saturday night.

Excellent cuisine in a red tablecloth old school Italian setting. Loved the calamari and the veal parmigiana special. Really nice to arrive early before it gets too busy at dinner time. Recommend highly!

We've been going to Volpi's for years and have always found it to be consistently high quality! the service is friendly and their Lamb Shank with Creamy Polenta is the BEST! Family friendly and fun, with an interesting history still on display throughout the interior.

I absolutely love this place. It is quaint, family run and the service top notch. Beautiful building, was a prohibition bar and then a market and now a restaurant. there is a wonderful light and airy feel, marine decor and historical pictures throughout the restaurant. I was here for a Lent dinner and the Cioppino was incredible! For all of you non Bay area residents, it is a famous fish stew originating from Italian immigrant fishermen who lived in San Francisco. It is a historical regional dish and you can actually taste the history in it. Pairing it with a California white wine, sublime. I had a chance to see the owner who was playing the accordion, it was wonderful. What a warm touch to our meal.

For decades June time frame as well every time were near Petaluma I and my family have experienced the same high quality service and feed bag largely because it’s a Family run business with a long history in the community. Always busy so plan around a pleasant wait if you haven’t reserved a time. Very few restaurants offer such an experience especially in Petaluma, Ca

This is by far the best Italian restaurant ever. I love the family style dinners! Their Minestrone soup, fantastic, salad great, their house pasta with the lemon cream sauce is soon good!!! Love the Chicken Piccata, and Marsala! The ice cream at the end, is a nice touch.

We arrived at 5:15pm on a Saturday night and the place was already packed. They open for dinner at 5:00pm so I wasn't expecting it to fill up so fast. I had a very delicious Chicken Piccata, creamy polenta and sautéed green beans. Now that sounds like a good meal but when you get the family style meal you start with the house salad. Then a bowl of Minestrone soup. Anti pasta then pasta. Now all of this is before you get your meal. And it's finished with coffee and ice cream or in my case Spumoni. I love Spumoni. The service is always top notch and always freindly. You will have a meal to remember. And if that is too much food just ask to split it with someone at your table.

You can really feel the 1920s pedigree of this busy and authentic Italian eatery very close to Hotel Petaluna. Good-sized portions and an extensive menu. Friendly and fast service.

This former grocery store speakeasy is a great Italian restaurant. It has red and white checked tablecloths and a vast menu. I always start with the clam chowder. Of course there are several salads you could start with as well as minestrone. But the seasonings and texture of clam chowder for me are spot on. For those of you truly hungry you can opt for the full menu which along with the entree includes soup or salad. Pasta and desert! Entrees include veal parmigiana, veal saltimbocca, great pastas, steaks and much much more. Everything you'd want from chicken to fish. The prices are reasonable for the quantities we were served I also go home with a doggie bag. Make sure you go in the back and check out the old bar!
