We were in town and ate twice here, so good! Great atmosphere, good prices and very nice choices of food.

Stopped by after hearing good things about this joint. A nice, homey feel to the place, with an attractive outdoor area. The food menu didn’t excite us much. Thought charging $7.58 for a 12 ounce pour was a little too much San Francisco pricing. Not...sure I’d come back for the music, there are other places closer in that I prefer - you can’t walk here.More

It seems like an ok locals bar. Wait staff obviously focuses on regulars. Kind of rude to people who come by for the first time to check it out

We were traveling and had rented a home in Penn Grove and walked into Twin Oaks for a late dinner and drinks. From the outside it looks like your old local waterhole. But the inside has a nice vibe and they have a cool outdoor...patio in the back with live music. The food was also surprising very good. Try the brussel sprouts and home made chips and dip.The sliders and salads were also very good.More

Good service, better-than-average bar food, good music on weekends, and a nice outdoor patior area -- weather permitting. This is not a bad spot to go to with a family; though it's probably not the best place for kids on a Friday or Saturday night.

I was expecting much less from the food. They have vegetarian options. Liked the food. Nice chips and salsa. Pretty large portions, so order carefully. Nice beer list, with good local beers. Nice outdoor area with games. Good music, mostly country music. Some good bluegrass/American...roots music mixed in with mainstream country. I’ll be back for the bluegrass.More

Well, the beer is outstanding. The fries good. But the Chicken Sandwich is outstanding! Great music, staff is polite and accommodating. Got here just before the set up outside, and they didn't bother us. Will try the ribs and pulled pork next time...but other patrons...said "YES".More

Come back to Twin Oaks Tavern to enjoy one of the oldest bar/restaurants in Sonoma County. The Twin Oaks has been under new management for the last year. An cozy outdoor seating area is a venue for music; and the inside performance area is also...still there. Great beers on tap including special guest beers. Always fun. Always funky. If Lagunitas is getting too crowded for you, drive around the corner.More

6 cold wings for $8.50. Didn't even get celery or carrots. Total blowout. It is a cool bar and they do have some live music, but I would never come back to eat.

Had read about this place in the San Francisco Chronicle so decided to try it out for lunch since I was in the area wine tasting and it is only 5 minutes off Hwy 101 in a very small Sonoma County town. The tavern has...been around for years and has changed very little with the new ownership. It is just like a comfortable pub you would find in the country somewhere with delicious pub like food. They also offer at least 20 different local brews on tap. All we saw were locals in there trying out the beers. The bartender was very friendly and told us that his favorite challenge is to turn a non beer drinker into a beer lover and with that he proceeded to ask for my preferences in tastes and offered a few samples. We tried the Buttermilk-Fried Chicken Sandwich and the Yanni Sausage Skillet...both were delicious. Also, do not miss the spicy potato wedge fries. My dining companion who is a gourmet cook and myself thought they were the best we have ever had. The potato skins were so so...rather bland in flavor. There were quite a few items on the menu we would have liked to try but our stomachs could only take so much. A cheese bread was calling my name but just couldn't do it. They offer mostly free music almost every night of the week and there is a dance floor inside and out. Another friend has gone dancing there and she loves it. Again, it is a lot of locals. Since it was raining, we did not check out the beer garden in back but from the reviews it appears to be quite nice. I would recommend this place if you are staying around Petaluma or even Santa Rosa and you like casual bar-restaurants with a local touch. It does have a full bar but the beers are the stars here.More
